Cam Floodlight Pro - Spent more money trying to get it to work than the device itself

After having Wyze Cam v3 all around, inside and outside the home, I figured that it was a safe bet to upgrade and replace one of our floodlights that had a v3 mounted next to it with a complete Wyze floodlight camera system. After doing research and finding that the floodlight pro could do everything and more than what we wanted, I went ahead and purchased and installed it. This thing has been a nightmare of inconsistent performance since I finally got it to somewhat work. To repeat, we had a V3 in the same location so nothing in terms of connectivity, interference, etc has changed. First issue was SD cards and that clips were not being saved. Tried resetting the camera, wiping and reformatting the card and finally purchased a new upgraded card. Next was the horrible connectivity of this device. The V3 had no issues, recorded events on the SD and popped up immediately in the app when opened. The floodlight pro has had connectivity issues since day 1. To resolve this, I purchased an entire wireless mesh system to get a stronger signal out to the camera. Again, the V3 did not have a problem with the signal in the same location so I don’t know why this would be an issue, especially with a newer model of technology. Even after the wireless mesh upgrade and the node, with excellent parent signal, sitting 5 feet from the floodlight pro, the connectivity did not improve. I am at a loss with this device and looking for any direction on what I may have missed and is beyond the troubleshooting listed on the website (did you turn it off and back on, did you reinstall the entire system). The camera quality, detection and everything else that the camera does and enables is FANTASTIC…when it works. We just want it to work all the time!

If that’s the case, you should not own any camera made and “supported” by WYZE. Sooner or later they’ll release a firmware version that causes issues with your camera. I’m not trying to be Mr. Negative, but am being 100% honest and realistic as to how WYZE operates. Like they say, you get what you pay for and it is what it is.

That is especially frustrating when the v3 was stable in the same location. As one controlled test, temporarily connect the Floodlight Pro to the main router’s dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID, bypassing the nearby mesh node and any band steering. If it becomes stable, the mesh or roaming path is the differentiator; if it does not, you have narrowed this away from signal strength and toward the camera, power, or firmware.

Thank you for the recommendation. I will try that out when I get home. Is there a known issue if the camera is connected to another bandwidth aside from the 2.4?
