I was waiting for (two year) and finally purchased the camera doorbell with chime from Home Depot as soon as I saw it was available. I’ve had it installed for at least two months now, but am not receiving notifications when someone presses the button, to my smartphone.
I read in forums that the beta testing was not available in Canada yet, but received an email today announcing that the doorbell was available in Canada now.
I only have two options currently diaplaying under doorbell: Notifications On/Off and Notify Me When Detcts Motion On/Off.
Do push notifications work in Canada yet?
How can we get the beta, if available?
I have other wyze cams for over 3 years (I’m not a new user)
Thank you!
I don’t live in Canada, so I don’t know hat restrictions you may have. However, I would think notifications work worldwide?
Here are some things to check related to event recording and notifications:
Globally on an account basis by making sure the BELL icon on the top right of the Home tab doesn’t have a couple of snoring z’s thru it (or by using the switch in Account Tab > Notifications > Push Notifications).
Per camera by calling the individual camera up, then Settings > Event Recording > Detects motion (etc).
Per camera by calling the individual camera up, then Settings > Notifications > Notifications. This can be controlled by the camera owner AND shared user, and will affect both. Also, you need to select which events you want to be notified about. motion, sound, or Wyze AI events if you have Cam Plus.
Per camera by calling the individual camera up, then Settings > Detection Settings > Sensitivity, & Detection Zone (for motion or Person Detection to occur, something must enter the zone). If the zone is off, the whole frame will be evaluated for motion.
In the phone’s OS settings, which can enable or disable all notifications globally, or from any individual app. This applies to only that particular phone/tablet. (Note: this is not possible in some versions of Android.) iOS Examples: App: Phone Settings > Notifications > Wyze and Global: Phone Settings > Do Not Disturb (and its schedule).
Some of these boilerplate settings are phrased slightly different for the doorbells, but maybe you can find an issue using the above.
Thank you for responding. I checked all of the things you suggested. The bell (push notifications are enabled) is on.
Under my Account, Home tab, (where I see: - Home Monitoring Service (i actually have a local company alarm system amd monitoring through them), - enable location triggering rules and - enable sunrise and sunset triggered rules…if i go under monitoring to “Begin” to set up my address, there is very small print that says “only US address will be verifiied” the addresses that pop up under predictive text are ONLY American. Canadian addresses cannot be entered : frowning_face:
All other settings in both in my phone and in the Wyze app have push notifications otherwise on.
LOL
I’ve had cams for 3 yrs, the doorbell is a new addition.
I have figured out how to make it ring on my phone (it come up like a video phone call) through all of you that made suggestions on settings.
Thank you!
