Just bought a Wyze V2 doorbell camera and got it all setup…converted from a Nest camera at my previous home but i’m trying to go 100% Wyze at my new place.
I turned on notifications everywhere i can find it in the app, and i DO get notifications when someone rings the doorbell. However, i’m not getting anything when there is motion in the detection area I have setup.
Couple things to note. I DO NOT have a subsciption plan (was hoping to avoid to minimize cost). I also have not yet put in a SD card, will do that this weekend. Not sure if either of these are affecting the issue or not, but looking for ya’ll expertise!
What are your detection settings? Notification settings are one thing. But you also need to enable motion detection to get cloud events so that you can get event notifications. Do you have any events from the camera in the event tab?
Settings looks right. Without a cloud subscription assigned to the camera, you’ll get a thumbnail in the event tab whenever motion is detected that is subject to a 5 min cool down between events. What detection zone do you have set up? And this one still needs an answer…
If you place a SD card in the camera and enable micro SD card recording (events only or continuous), you should get recording to the card. But local recordings do not trigger motion notifications, only cloud events do.
