We need to put our new Wyze Cam Outdoor Expansion Camera base in a bedroom. The blinking blue lights are not what we want when sleeping. Can the base lights be turned off?? Thanks.
Hi @lois.kramer, welcome to the Wyze community! As far as I know, you are not able to turn off that light. I would recommend covering the light with a very small piece of non-transparent tape. You could also just set something in front of it. Keep in mind that you should not cover and vents, ports, or places that heat would be let out (I have no idea what any of this stuff is called 
) as this may cause damage to the router or something else. Anyway, I hope you figure something out!
Thank you for suggestion. My husband said we can use blue tape over it which may help. Do I need to keep it near the wifi source or does any room work as long as it’s plugged in.
I am not sure if this is what you mean, but the base station needs to be plugged into your wifi router and a power outlet. I will leave a link on how to do this below.
Thank you. I thought it being wireless meant not necessary to keep plugged into WiFi. I set it up with WiFi but disconnected it after that. I’m learning. Next will be to have my husband install the cameras at the front area and in the backyard. I know there’s a video on that and it looks fairly simple.

The base needs to remain hard wired into your network via an Ethernet cable. You can have a longer ethernet cable to relocate the wco base to a different area of the space than right next to the router or switch. The base then creates a new wifi network that your WCO camera connects to. This is for normal operation, so you can live view the camera, get notifications and events.

Thank you for the responses. I believe my question has been answered. I did put blue masking tape over the light and then a small piece of black electrical tape over that as the light still came through.
I also know now that I have to have my base hard wired to the router so I have wifi connection for notifications, etc. I believe I can set this up in my office near my desk and use a longer cable to connect to router. Thanks again everybody for your quick responses!
