Can’t turn v4 cam spotlight off

V4 camera. I can’t turn the spot light off. On my “live view” the lower left corner shows the spot light as off. Toggling that on and off does nothing. Restarting the camera does nothing. If I unplug the camera, the split second I plug it back in the camera comes back on.

It is almost as if the internal on off switch is stuck in the on position. Has anyone ever seen this?

Did you try switching between manual and auto back to manual to turn off the spot ?

This V4 is set to manual and the spotlight is off. It has to be in manual to be able to turn it on and off from live view.

Yes. I’ve tried both manual and auto and every combination and no luck.

The high/low toggle does work, but just no luck turning it off.

Which iOS app are you using ? I have four V4 cams and they all work fine. iOS app 3.6.5 (5) and iOS 18.6. Maybe you should delete your app and load it again, can’t hurt.:upside_down_face:

Nope. I was running the most recent version. I did delete and reinstall and same things holds true.

I have Three v4 cams myself. This is the only one that does this. Furthermore, I’ve had all 3 of these for many months now……this light issue on the one cam is a new problem.

I wonder if you’re experiencing a hardware issue, like what appears to be the case in this (seemingly related) topic:

How/where is your problematic Cam v4 mounted, and what did Support say when you contacted them?

Seems very similar. My camera like the one in that post is also mounted upside down outside. I didn’t contact support, but will now.

Well I heard back from Wyze and they said they can’t do anything because it’s a couple months out of warranty. Oh well, I took it apart and it’s as clean and dry as a bone in there it’s got to be something like everybody said hardware issue. So I decided just to disconnect the light wasn’t using it anyway.

Thanks everybody for all the comments.

How did you open yours up?

I just noticed that mine not only has the light stuck on, but also isn’t reading the SD card inside. This device was mounted upside down, so I’m guessing water got inside. I’m going to disable the light like you did.

nevermined….found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM1PEPsLJyg

Got mine opened up…..wet inside.

Going to let it dry out to see if that magically fixes anything.
