Hey guys, since Support is closed for the w/e I would like to inquire here please. I have cam plus subscription, my duo cam has a 128gb SD Card installed in it. On any given day can I view the last 24 hours on Wyze server or cloud so I won’t have to remove the SD card and connect it to my pc? If yes, how can I view it online please?
The Duo Doorbell does function with the Live View Site from Wyze: Live View
You can logon to that site, make sure your doorbell is connected and then go to the events tab to see what is going on.
Alternatively, if you want to use your App, simply go to the Events tab there and filter for the Duo Doorbell. you should see all events for a given day. you can also go back in time, up to 14 days. From there and from the live stream itself, you can also click on the SD Card and review what is on the SD Card directly from the the phone as well.
Note: Currently the SD Cards are not available within Live View.
Thanks yes I am aware of all of those option. Sorry I should have mentioned I am still looking for a way to view the recorded footage on my pc not phone and without having to remove and connect the SD Card to my pc.
I had seen some info on chat GPT showing a cloud viewing of the recorded is done with Cam plus which is why I am looking into it now again. This what it’s shows:
Wyze Cam Plus costs $1.99 per month per camera (or $14.99 per year per camera). This subscription gives you full access to cloud storage for longer video clips, person detection, and other advanced features.
If you already have Cam Plus on the Duo Doorbell, you should be ok today. you can go to he live View and make sure that camera is selected. But Live View does require Cam Plus.
I personally have Cam Unlimited as I have more cameras to justify that. So most of my cameras function in Live View.
Sorry I don’t think I might be explaining myself accurately. Yes, I have a live view of my duo cam and other cam on my desktop pc’s browser but that is all it is, a live view or monitoring.
There isn’t any option to see recorded footage as what Chat GPT is saying in my previous post or here again:
Wyze Cam Plus costs $1.99 per month per camera (or $14.99 per year per camera). This subscription gives you full access to cloud storage for longer video clips, person detection, and other advanced features.
You are correct, there is no method to see recorded footage on your PC from an SD Card or even from the cloud without the connection.
You could potentially use other alternatives like Tiny Cam or you can use one of the 3rd party Integrations in Home Assistant
Oh snap, never knew those options existed, thank you very much, will look into those!
Just reporting back, the Tiny Cam is only for mobile phones not desktop pc.
The duo cam does support RTSP or Onvif so can;t work with the other softwares so I will need to try another doorbell without these power, wifi and video monitoring issues.
Tell me this, instead of advertising on ebay, it allowed for me to make a post here offering my doorbells for sale so the folks here can get them at half price?
You would not make an official offer, pricing, etc.
You could go to the Water Cooler Location or Cams, let individuals know that you have a Duo-Cam-Doorbell and would like to sell it. Ask individuals to DM you if interested. But don’t reach out to individuals directly with sales as that would be a violation of the Community Guidelines.
Have you tried Home Assistant with the Integrated Camera option? Someone put together an Add-in that will utilize Wyze Camera’s.
@carverofchoice , do you recall the name? I believe you use it. Also, does the Duo Doorbell work with it?
Great thank you, will do as advised and follow all rules as stated. I can get rid of my Video Doorbell Pro too whie I’m at it.
I had looked into Home Asistant and Wyze doorbells yesterday and this thos thread pretty much states I should not attempt this?
It is free and seems to work when I used it. Cannot think of the name, sorry.
I would not be too concerned about it not working or being crippled as it is something that Individuals are using and have not had any major issues. This is why Wyze provided the ability to create an API Key. The API Key is used with those that want to connect to Wyze for integrations.
Mostly accurate…however, I run Tiny Cam on my desktop PC just fine in 2 different ways:
- Using an Android Emulator
- Running Tiny Cam on an old Android phone in “Server Mode” and then connecting to the camera’s RTSP stream on my Desktop Web browser.
I believe you’re referring to Docker Wyze Bridge (Wyze TUTK Cameras) or Cryze Docker (Wyze Gwell Cameras). Neither of those specifically list Duo Cam Doorbell as officially supported, and I currently have my Mini-PC turned off, so can’t easily check it.
Tiny Cam Pro, either on an Android Emulator or in Server mode, is probably the best option for the DCDB to get RTSP for viewing on Desktop. but it sounds like OP is going to sell anyway and find something that natively supports RTSP. This is probably a good idea.
Yep that is it. For the life of me, I could not remember. Thanks
You can view recorded events on your PC by going to the Wyze Web Portal. Select the"Events" tab as shown in the image below.
It doesn’t work, period. A protocol or something changed and it broke it. There have been multiple forks that supposedly work, but the ones I’ve tried don’t.
Yea, that is what @carverofchoice confirmed.
Yeah thanks but none of my wyze cams capture all events for whatever reason and what I need is to see continuos recorded footage.
You can’t view continuous footage on Web View as it only works with SD card recordings. No cloud service will give you continuous footage.
I think that’s what he’s trying to do; access the SD recording on a PC. Not possible unless you use some 3rd party software.
Correct. There are other doorbell brands which does this as I am now finding out.
