Can access camera--just keep going in circles

Every time that I try to set up app for WIFI camera on my android tablet, it asks for Serial Number of camera. There is no serial number anywhere on the camera. How am I supposed to access the camera?

Are you using the correct wyze app? None of the wyze cameras I have ask for the serial number during setup.

The way the setup should work is you choose add a device in the wyze app menu. click the setup button on the camera, the camera will say ready to connect, and the app will display a qr code. Hold your phone up to the camera so the camera can read the qr code, and then the rest of the setup is following the prompts in the app.

The Wyze App should be displaying a QR code for setup.

Make sure you are getting this App from the PlayStore.

Can you post a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

I am using Wyze Camera app by Gabal. I couldn’t find a Wyze Cam V3 app except for Always Home or Smarter v4.

What is Gabal?

DO NOT enter your credentials into that app. You downloaded a fake Wyze app that merely attempts to “troubleshoot” your system. You should uninstall that app by Gabal.

The Wyze app in the Google Play store is published by Wyze Labs Inc:

If you entered your Wyze credentials into that app, change them with Wyze immediately and uninstall the app, then run a security scan on your phone.

Never install software that isn’t released by the company that makes the devices.

Also if the link posted by @Seapup says “not compatible with your device” that would explain why you couldn’t find it in the app store when searching.

Your only option (other than using a different device) is to install the 2.5 app from Wyze - Make Your Home Smarter 2.50.7.487 (arm64-v8a + arm-v7a) (nodpi) (Android 7.0+) APK Download by Wyze Labs Inc. - APKMirror

You may need to go into your device settings and tell it to allow loading non-store apps.

Once installed, go to your app store and update it, that will give you the latest/final version of the 2.5 app. Note that the 2.5 app is no longer supported and there is no way to say if all your devices will work in it (or how long they will work). So far on my spare phone, everything still works in the 2.5 app (Panv3, OG, and v4).

Thank you. For some reason, the correct app would not come up, but now, thanks to Seapup, I’ve go the right app and it’s working fine.
