Can a Wyze Battery Cam Pro replace the camera on the Wyze Floodlight Camera?

Cam Pro replace the camera on the Wyze Floodlight Camera? Has anybody done it

Not ppssible. What firmware would you attempt to use in the BCP to trigger the camera operation? Why would you want to replace the native camera in the pro? To have a wireless floodlight? Not enough battery power for the floodlights to operate, might last for 1 or 2 cycles of the floodlights being on. No viable logic in your question for this to be successful.

My question is what are you attempting to accomplish?

I have both models, and agree with @fmills1d on this one.

I see no reason or means to try to Frankenstein these two products into one.

My guess is that he has floodlight V1 and the built-in camera (a V3) is on the blink. He’s trying to hold on to the floodlight and change the stock V3 with a BCP. The stock V3 has a special firmware code to control the floodlight, which the BCP doesn’t have.

I have that floodlight and its camera is starting to lose connection regularly after years of no problem. I need to replace the floodlight eventually but in the meantime, I reboot it regularly to head off problems.

I replaced my v1 while it was still fully functional with the v2. I even purchased a 2nd v1 during a too good to pass up sale. I’m going to install it at my son’s house when the weather permits. I need to move and rewire a new junction box.
@CatHome I like the Frankenstein reference, nice choice of word as an analogy to elicit a visual.

The other thing I noticed is that the camera’s firmware is really old. I know it’s a cam V3 and I can flash the latest firmware but why can’t Wyze let the app update the firmware? I don’t want to climb a ladder, fumble with an SD card to flash it.

This one is a tough call. If I was going to go the route of flashing firmware to the fldlt v1, I might strongly consider taking it down to do it. This way you’re in a ground stable environment and can handle any re-do situation. That’s a lot of potential movement above ground on an extension ladder. Of course you would need the stripped power cord solution to plug in for power. Or maybe fashion a construction style platform for a stable working setup.

I agree with you on Wyze performing firmware updates but since it appears they have stopped offering the v1, that probably is never going to happen.
