Cameras offline in website and somewhat offline in app

I find the coverage pretty dismal at times when I actually want to see in real time, what is going on outside. Seems like most times, the website shows all camera offline most of the time and the app while better, will fail when needed unless I shut it down and restart. Even after I get a camera working, it will generally drop within a minute or two. Then come back a few seconds later. I have fairly good wifi coverage and once they show up, always show a strong signal.

I see all the alerts, but why can’t I use these things live like I should?

All of those things point to wifi or internet issues. A strong signal unfortunately doesn’t mean much on 2.4ghz, the quality of the signal and bandwidth available is far more important. You can try changing wifi channels, moving access points around to get a stronger signal (or using a better router/AP).

On the internet side, web view and the app when away from home both rely heavily on your upload bandwidth, which is often far less than your download speed. Some ISP routers are known to interfere with the video streams and camera controls too.

Well… nothing else has issues other than wyze cameras and have 1gb up and down from my fiber connection. I don’t think any of my mesh nodes are overused, but food for thought. I have other cameras about a foot away from my main mesh and still has issues.

Thx!!

The one a foot away from your master node, confirm that it is actually connected to that one and not being pushed off to one of the slaves.

Then with a phone connected to the same wifi as the cam (try forcing the phone to 2.4ghz first so there is basically nothing in the path between them) see if the problem still exists. If not, you need to look into your mesh system and see why it is blocking stuff between bands. If so, it is pointing more towards your phone/app, or slightly less likely, the authentication and control signals being blocked or interfered with (those have to go via the internet).
