Camera not opening on phone for QR Code scanning

I just received my 7 cameras but when I try to install the first one in the app, I can only get to the QR Code scanning screen, the camera does not pop up so I can scan the QR nor is there a button to press to “scan” or in this case activate the camera for scanning.

Im on a Google Pixel XL phone running Android 9 security patch Feb 5th 2019

oh wow, you scan the QR code on the screen with the wyze cam, I though it was like every other device where you scan the QR code on the camera or hardware using the phone’s camera. LOL

I have posted the detaild instructions. When that screen pops up with the QR, make sure the camera has a light on and just position the camera in front of the camera and it will automatically scan pending you have pressed the setup button.

I’m having the same issue with my Note 10 plus

Yes you’ve left detailed instructions but it still doesn’t explain why my phone won’t scan the code. It doesn’t open the camera. When I open it, I copy the code and it still won’t hook up. When it asks for my password again it doesn’t let me type it in. I have to go to my notes type in my password and then copy and paste it. Something is wrong with the app

Welcome to the community, @guywills. The phone doesn’t scan the code. The camera scans the code the Wyze app puts on the screen (phone or tablet) after you have entered your SSID and password. Please see the camera setup instructions at the link below. Please let me know if you have any questions. Make sure you tag my username as I did yours in my reply to you. Good luck!

I thought the same thing when I set up my first Wyze camera. It’s the opposite of the way most things are set up using a barcode. And the instructions weren’t clear about it.

My Wyze cam will not scan the code on my phone. The Camera says ready to connect, and I have entered the Wifi info on my phone. The QR code shows up, but the camera just doesn’t see it.

@cliff413 Welcome to the community! Take a look at the QR code and make sure the code is not partially hidden. You may have to adjust the screen up slightly. Please see the following post below for an example and let us know if this helps. :slightly_smiling_face:
