Cam V3 Unsupported MicroSD

I am having issue with some V3 Cam.
on a total of 15 Cam ranging from V2, V3, PanV3, OG and Doorbell
i have 3 of the V3 that SD card is working fine.

V3-1 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 7C78 128GB Kingston
V3-2 4.36.10.7146 3.0.9 7C78 64GB Lexar
V3-5 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 D03F 64GB Kingston

These 3 below i can’t get any SD card to work, they all had a Kinston SD ranging from 32 to 128GB and were working at installation. I am trouble shooting the V3-8 in that post.

V3-8 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 D03F ?? Unsup
V3-7 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 D03F ?? Unsup
V3-3 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 7C78 ?? Unsup

The V3-2 had a working 128GB KingstonSD which I move to the V3-8 and got the unsupported message.
Took a brand new Lexar 64GB and installed it in V3-2, i got the bip bip and working, I also try that Lexar in the V3-8 and same result not working.

Since the V3-2 had and old FW 4.36.10.7146 i did update to 4.36.11.8391 which was the next one available. Result after update Lexar SD still OK.
Now it show
V3-2 4.36.13.0416 3.0.9 7C78 64GB Lexar

So, s bottom line i guess i have 3 defective Cameras

My last test i removed cam V3-8 from my account and re-add it.
did add the 128GB card from previous test and still not seeing the card

So if anyone has an idea just let me know.

Having you tried power cycling #3, #7, and #8 of your Cam V3?

It is likely your last recording corrupted the microSD and the internal controller locked it up from further writes. I’ve had instances where a power surge / power outage corrupted my micro SD recordings and I had to physically remove it to format it on a phone or PC afterwards.

Yup
i have power recycle them many time,
Reformatted the MicroSD many time,
Use MicroSD from a working CAM
Use brand new MicroSD.
And the problem persist.

What format are you putting on the cards - ExFAT?

If you’re not certain, there is a utility called SD card formatter from the SD association that will re-partition the card and make sure everything is good. However from your symptoms, I’m thinking some water or debris got into the slot on those cams.

You can dry unplugging it, dripping a few drops of rubbing alcohol in, then blowing it out with compressed air and letting it dry. Also clean the contacts on the SD cards. If that doesn’t cut it, wet the contacts on the SD cards with alcohol and insert and remove it a few times in the cam to try and force clean the contacts. Then blow it out again and/or just let it sit open and dry for a while.

If none of that works, I’m guessing some water or debris did get in and has shorted the controller or permanently affected the contacts (corrosion etc).

I have had a couple of cameras that have had the µSD card slot fail - it can happen.
