Cam Unlimited annual costs 129.99 on the iOS app or 99.99 on website?
I’m not considering the 129.99 cost, is there any difference between the 2 options? is the website cost a promo?
thank you

Pay the 129.99 if you want to help the top executives of Apple, I heard they are looking to replace their private jets.
ALWAYS buy Wyze services via the Wyze website. If you buy it via the Apple app, then Apple takes a cut (which increases your cost) and if you have an issue it WILL end up as a finger pointing exercise between Wyze and Apple blaming each other for the issue.
As stated by others, the more expensive one is just Apple stealing a 30% extortion…I mean royalty…if someone really badly wants the “convenience” of ordering things through the app that they got on Apple’s App store. So the extra $30 represents the extra yearly tip you’ll be paying paying to Apple with no added benefit. You can order directly from Wyze on their website and totally bypass the Apple extortion fee and have the exact same service. Better, even.
If you order the more expensive one through Apple, then you technically ordered it from Apple. Apple won’t allow Wyze to help you with the subscription if there are problems in any way. They aren’t allowed to cancel, refund, etc. You have to convince Apple to do those things, and they won’t. If there is a bug, then Wyze might have their hands tied and as stated above both Wyze and Apple support will do finger pointing at the other while you’re frustrated to death that nobody can help you because neither one has complete control over the service issue.
Sometimes you effectively pay more to give yourself a nightmare with no benefits.
Yeah, don’t even consider it. Go with the cheaper one directly through Wyze for sure. It’s 100% the right choice.
Apple takes 30% of our subscription in the app, so we pass 100% of those savings on to you when you buy on our website (my.wyze.com)
Hi Matt -
I signed up for the 99.99 unlimited plan based on this conversation, and today I received and email from Wyze for an $89 dollar promotion. I understand that promo’s come and go, so I’m less bothered by my bad timing, but the email also says that the regular price is $119.99? So… if Apple is charging 30% more than the regular price of the plan and the regular Wyze price is 120, the numbers aren’t adding up.
So back to my original question.
“is the website cost (99.99) a promo?”
thank you,
Yeah so the promo is based on the monthly price of the CPU ($10/mo x 12 months) vs the now discounted annual option at $89yr. Technically the annual is “discounted” already from the monthly option by $20 and then we promo’d down $10, but honestly I agree it feels like marketing jargon.
I’m sorry you missed the promo, if you DM me I’ll see what we can do for you.
Hi Matt
Thanks for the additional info. I appreciate the offer to adjust the cost to the promo, but I missed it honestly, so no worries.
As for the decision to use the $120 amount in the promo as the “actual” cost, it gives the impression that a Wyze subscription costs more than the actual rate. The net result from that may not be what marketing intended.
Thanks again
I agree completely. I’ll make sure this does not happen on the next promotion.
@Brandbird your conversation in this thread is so refreshing and reasonable. I’d love to see a lot more users respond to things this way.
I was literally just thinking that. Thank you for saying it out loud.
