Cam pan V4 no longer goes home

I just noticed this for sure yesterday. I went to check my cams when I was away and the one I still let follow people was facing my front door.

It should have reset to the front.

I checked history and found my son walking in the house, it tracked him and stayed.

The home position took some getting used to but I definitely like the feature.

Firmware 4.70.1.3311

I tried some tests today and it never returns home.

I usually have an old phone with 4 cams displayed but not open (menu) I tried the monitoring tab and was thinking maybe home isn’t working when on that tab…

Pretty useless if each time the camera moves the next motion to detect has to be from there… :slight_smile:

Ideas?

Yep, it’s super broken, I just tested with all my devices not looking at camera at all. Followed me, never went home.

My fix is to set two positions to my home position, delete other two and turn on pan feature….

Not great.

Oh wow, that isn’t working either…WTAF… I guess I have to have a 4th non moving pan tilt camera because they broke the heck out of it….

(one of my old v3 started to do the Hmmm privacy mode thing this morning)

Without information about your settings, I wouldn’t know where to begin with suggestions. Screenshots might be helpful:

  • Cam Pan v4’s Live Stream screen showing which features in the icon/menu bar are active.
  • Current Waypoint settings from the Pan Control section of the Cam’s home screen.
  • Pan Cam Controls screen showing what and how you’re tracking.

That’s where I’d start. It might also be helpful to know about your Detection Settings and Event Recording and what kinds of events and/or notifications the Cam is generating for you.

Without information about how the Cam is configured now, anyone trying to assist would be pretty much flying blind.

Also, thank you for including your firmware version in the first post! That’s helpful to get that out of the way in the beginning so no one has to ask about that later. :+1:
