Cam pan v3 won't connect to wyze app anymore.. Anyone else?

Is the ISP router currently in bridge mode (router disabled)? What ISP and model router is it?

The router is disabled and it’s a videotron(ISP) Helix (modem/router). Pretty standard. I never had any problem connecting anything to my router with that modem setup. It just stopped working with no reason… It’s not just that I can’t connect new cams… They were connected and working for a while, then just stopped… It’s not my router. Everything else is still working perfectly… My router firmware wasn’t updated… What I should do is try setting up my cam somewhere else… With another ISP… If it doesn’t work with the modem/router or with my phone as a Hotspot… After that…

I have two Wyze v1 Pan Camera, one totally quit working and the other is working just fine. Also v2s Wyze Cam that quit working while the others are still working. When I contacted Wyze, the rep said, perhaps they are old and nothing they could do. Meanwhile, I still have a dozen camera that still working fine. Wondering if these cameras were design to last only 4 or 5 years?

I don’t think they’re specifically designed to die but that’s a pretty good lifespan for an IOT device that is always on and doing as much as a camera is doing. Over time, heat just starts weakening the solder joints inside or the chips just wear out.

Most of my cams are outside, they’re at about the 1.5 year mark and I’ll be happy if they go 5 years. At that point there will be much better things.

Perhaps you’re right. Nothing is built to last. Most of my cameras are also mounted outside, except for 4 cams mounted from inside window.

Mine were bought 4 month ago…

I am running the Orbi Mesh Router 870 and 4 satellites around different places in my house 3000 sqft and garage. I have 3 Wyze Cam Pans (latest version) and a total of 24 other cams around my property and everything works as advertised except that new ā€œenhanced descriptions areaā€

It’s adding to the mystery… Mine are connecting to the router but not to the app…

From your previous descriptions it sounds like they’re connecting to wifi fine but not able to communicate with the Wyze servers for authentication/setup. Have you tried using the ISP router directly, hotspot, or someone else’s wifi to narrow it down?

Hello, i have 2 Wyse Cam Pan 3 connected to the app. One Cam goes offline and disconnect also. Both have firmware updates… I’ve tried my cell phone Huawei and Samsung S23 and also 2 other android tablets and they all see the Cam disconnected.

The 2 Cam Pan V3 are in my mothers home far from my house so i cannot go there each time they disconnect. I have to unplug them from the wall, wait 2 min. and reconnect them. They work for 1-3 days and then disconnect again. Impossible to reset or reboot the camera from my home !

Please FIXE this problem with a better firmware or software.

Thanks in advance

Mine are working fine on iPad and iPhone.

Have you tried from an iPhone or iPad? … unlikely but …
… possibly a ?network? setup parameter on phone?

are they accessible from the Wyze web browser?

I agree that this issue may require a more permanent (i.e., firmware) fix, and your description seems like a compelling use case for routing the cameras’ power through smart plugs. I did that for quite a while after I got my first Cam Pan v3 because it would frequently lose its network connection and refuse to reconnect without a power cycle, so I used a Wyze Plug to do that remotely. (Other Forum members will insist that a smart plug used for Wyze cameras should be a non-Wyze plug. I understand the reasons and don’t disagree. I just used what I had available at the time.) Eventually the firmware updates Wyze released resolved my Cam Pan v3 (re)connection issues. Maybe that needs more work still.

Try a cheap WiFi extender, preferably one that plugs into a nearby outlet and has external antennas, Pan V3s have weak WiFi. This is a cheap way to possibly solve your connection issues.

When it happens, ask her if the cam light is flashing blue-red-blue. If it is, it is a wifi issue and an extender like @p2788deal mentions, or possibly repositioning the router at her house, should help (assuming the wifi chip in the camera isn’t dying).

I don’t know what category this should go under, BUT, it seems to me every upgrade WYZE does it causes more problems, Or the upgrade make everything too different looking or acting, for no particular reason.

You just noticed? There’s no regression testing. They fix the reported bug alright, but fail to test if the current bug fix nukes the previous bug fixes.

Funny thing… This morning, my 2 CAMs are working perfectly without having to go unplug them in my mother’s home… Hope they will continue to work permanently. Thanks WYSE !

An option to unplugging them is possibly to have your Mom turn off the circuit breaker that they are on for 2 minutes and back on.

I do this for a series of lights & cams in my crawlspace that I cannot easily access. I also added a Wyze plug to the primary extension cord like @Crease mentions below.
I realize this may turn off other items so it may not be appropriate but it works for me even though it also turns off my refrigerator.

2 days ago, my 2 cams that I didn’t reset started to connect to the app again… Not perfectly, they were disconnecting everytime I changed screen… But connecting… No recording of events to the cloud, just on SD card and no notifications… I also couldn’t restart them from the app… Today, I lost one of the 2 for no reasons… It’s mind boggling…

Not really, those sound like classic symptoms of wifi signal issues.
