Why does my cam pan V3 keep switching off of color night vision to black and white

Do you have Night Vision Mode set to Auto and have the Cam placed in an area where the ambient light level is at/near the threshold where the Cam switches modes when it’s set to Auto? That’s my first thought without a more detailed description of your experience and settings. If you want the Cam to use “Color Night Vision” all the time, then you should set Settings ➜ Advanced Settings ➜ Night Vision Mode to Off[1] and make sure you’re providing enough light to the area to capture the image quality you want when it’s otherwise dark there. I’ve used Cam Pan v3s indoors in a room with a couple of standard (4 W equivalent) night lights and had good results with the video using Color Night Vision.
When Night Vision Mode is On, the Cam will provide typical greyscale night vision. ↩︎
Because you have it set to “auto” and it will use a threshold of ambient light to make that decision. One of my Panv3s is in an area that is “borderline” and I just changed it to manual so it always stays in color.
My other one it does get pretty dark in my driveway so I leave that one on auto and it switches when it is supposed to.
