Their is no Flood only Night Vision Mode & Night Vision IR Lights - I was using the word “flood” to describe what the IR Lights should do - I say that because apparently they way IR sensors work is as the subject moves different portions of the chip get activated which translates into the assumption of movement. When you “flood” the area with IR light then theoretically all portions of the chip are equally activated and no variance exists and hence no movement is assumed. Clear as mudd?
Yes my battery is at 53% after 24 hours of set up
I am currently testing my WOC and have found live viewing and long scheduled event recordings drain the battery the most. I have switched to event recording only and the battery drain is much lower. For me, timelapse is probably the only feature I will find useful. The detection notifications are a bust so far.
Same here. Still blinking blue. Anyone have a fix for this?
For me, the camera doesn’t work very far from the base station. It works reliably within 10 ft of it and signal drops to 1 bar after that. Definitely not far enough at all. to top that, detection not recording event at all for me either. If things don’t improve its a return for me as well.
Mine won’t detect any motion or even play back. It has no option for playback even though it shows my SD card is there.
The SD card in camera is for time lapse and I believe scheduled recording. The SD card in base is for backup of the 12 second events.
No playback from camera allowed unless it is the 12 second clips stored in cloud which is viewed from “event” tab in the phone app.
If you can figure out how to get that to happen!
Oh, gotcha. Any idea why I’m not getting any notifications or motion activations?
I was not getting motion detection, nor notifications. Set notifications On in Account section of app and Camera On, Motion On and Notifications in the Outdoor Cam device - nothing. Clicked on Base Station and then Outdoor Cam thru Base Station device - Send Notifications was Off. Turned it On there - that’s 3 areas (Outdoor Cam, Base Station and Account). Motion and Notifications started working. Set cool down time to 1 minute to verify consistency and battery yesterday.
Wish I could tell you. Same issues with my setup, no matter what variation I’ve tried
Same here. Had the camera setup for a couple days and only got 1 motion detection alert and recording. Sent emails to Wyze but no response.
I mean friggin batteries? That was dumb.
There is no notification option on my base station. The others are turned on, but no detection, so no notification.
It’s all rather strange… If you access the camera via the Wyze Base, via signal strength notice at top of Base info, it opens the Outdoor Cam to live stream and Settings. I found the send notifications was Off, though I am sure I had them On via the Camera and Account. After setting this On, motion detection and notifications worked. I now go back and change settings via the Camera and they seem to update when accessing them via the Wyze Base?? Crazy. Ok, but noticed that the little Bell still had z-z over the bell, even through I set all the notifications/motion On. If I go into any device and return, the z-z goes away and notifications/events work. To test, I set notifications/motion On via Camera, Base and Account, but z-z stayed on the Bell and no motion detection/event when walking by camera. I tapped the Bell to turn off the z-z, and got a notification and event with motion walking back. Maybe that the Bell (z-z) is not updating correctly - try that. Will test more…
I was concerned about the detection zone. I noticed that my detection zone is actually the clear section at the bottom. My camera is hanging upside down from the eaves. So I have the picture flipped 180°. The detection zone then is just a white bar at the bottom, not the green section at the top. I set the camera back to normal and even though the picture is upside down, the green detection zone stayed the same and it works. I then went and tried adjusting the camera and the detection zone really doesn’t change much. With the camera set at 180°, the detection zone also needs to be able to change.
mount the base to the top of the camera, it’s magnetic also.
I wonder if the range issues some are experiencing are related to interference with your home wifi network, In my case the base station is operating on channel 11, and so is my access point on the same floor. Does anyone know a way to change the wifi operating channel of the base station? For other interference reasons I can’t change the access point from channel 11
A second question, the 12 second video recordings are store on the cloud, not the SD card in the camera? What happens if the internet goes down? Obviously no notifications but also no recording?
Technically it just has to be plugged into wired Ethernet on the same LAN as your router. Not necessarily into the router itself.
