is that English?
WCO = Wyze Cam Outdoor
PIR = Passive Infra Red
The wyze sense kit that includes a motion sensor is a PIR sensor. The wyze outdoor cam has a PIR sensor built into it.
What I’m saying is my PIR sensor from the wyze sense kit is much better than the built in PIR sensor in the wyze cam outdoor.
How do you set up an external PIR and connect to WCO and where do you get one?

But is this right? The PIR zone is only the green section shown in the photo I attached? You would think it would cover the whole viewable area shown.
The “Sense Single Motion Sensor” for $6. Then in the trigger in the app set it up so when motion sensor senses motion upload short video clip from WCO.
edit: if you don’t already have a bridge you’ll need the starter kit and a wyze v2 or Pan cam to install it in.
yes that is correct, the PIR has a slightly lower view than the camera. it is by design.
Can the bridge be inserted into the WCO?

No, it needs a v2 or Pan.
Great insight flying - why in the hell would Wyze use a different PIR supplier for the Outdoor CAM vs Sense?
Thanks, I’ll try to get the kit and try that method. I have several of the V2 and one Pan cam.

Looks like it might be working now with your help. The key was the green zone. My camera is mounted with the magnet flipped down and reoriented on an Eave because of needed view down a side yard. I still can’t replay live view but that may need an SD card.

No kidding the range on this base station isn’t going to allow for 4 cameras unless I want them all inside the house in adjacent rooms. I don’t understand the the base station. Instead of making it a competing wireless network in my house. How about you let the outdoor cam use my homes existing wifi which far surpasses anything coming out of this base station which by the way runs so hot I keep waiting for it to catch on fire.
Just use the base station as a central network attached storage location. Or better yet, get rid of the base station all together.
Also, I don’t know anybody that wants to go up and pull down the camera to recharge it. The battery in my opinion was a complete waste of resources. I hoped I could hard wire it but the usb plug has no weather seal.
All I wanted was a water proof V2, instead I got a goofy looking go pro with a hat.
The Sense Motion sensors are indoor PIR sensors so they’re probably tuned to be a bit more sensitive. The WCO PIR sensor had to be tuned to ignore common false triggers like sunlight through moving tree branches, etc., so the things that trigger the Sense PIR might not trigger the WCO PIR. It’s not so much a different vendor as a different profile for each intended environment.
Makes sense. When I was just testing my again it failed to record me walking toward the camera from about 40 feet, but then perfectly recorded me walking back away to the same start point.

This is a very inaccurate depiction of what the sensing zone actually looks like. It implies that the detection zone is equally sensitive in all areas, which it is not.
Wyze like all PIR sensor manufacturers has to know what the actually detection zone looks like, but it appears they are not willing to share the information.
To get an idea of what it actually might look like: Google “PIR detection zone” and select images at the top of the results
Anyone having problems getting it set up mybase station just keeps flashing blue, tried skipping and using the Mac,still no luck i could see the wifi ssid it puts out but it has a password lock
No idea. Divert water runoff outside the lens view?
I just up my outdoor cam about two hours ago. My dog has walk past it probably 50 times with no detection and that’s with sensitivity at max. Very disappointing.
Wow I guess the old saying “misery enjoys company “. Still frustrated with this camera’s ability to capture events that just short of the target walking directly up to the camera & jumping up and down while waving their arms.
Tried everything… distance to base changes, even running it out side. No consistency in capture if at all.
Right now this is the only Wyze product I would not recommend. Might even put it away until they correct issues related to seeing events.
I have jumped on every new camera that’s been put out. This is the only purchase I’ve made that I truly regret. I’m now the proud owner of a plastic model of the merging of the Death Star and a Borg Cube!
Think I’ll have to wait till it’s proven instead of being one of the first supporters… even if you get a free stupid toy hat??? Seriously???
Same here. Member of same club! We should get t-shirts! Well I did get a stupid cowboy hat …
Thought my dogs had developed ninja skills of invisibility!
