My cameras went down after the update do I wait for a fix , or delete them and reload them???
No argument here…overt camera vs covert, working camera vs a non-working camera. Debates between each have been debated and even had legal cases. A camera is just a camera until you put it to its wanted use. Security is one of protection, but it in itself is, how much am i willing to risk of the valued target. Security cameras don’t protect against theft or vandalism 100% as we can probably agree on, they then become forensic tools…and on many occasions can result in apprehension. Am I willing to risk the valued target for a less than 100%? Again risk vs reward. I’ll go a step further, I have some items, such as my home and its contents as very high risk valuables. I opt to have a monitored intrusion system, with the Wyze cameras, my dogs and motion sensor lights as trip wires for advance notice and deterrence as you mentioned. Each being a layered risk…as are the Wyze cameras. Wyze camera frustration comes from its reliability. Even if we do know it’s uptime is 95% at times (my opinion for my cameras). We all want 100% reliable uptime…I get it.
I have been having problems with all of my V3 cameras to where they have a jerky slow motion. I was forced to get the cam V3 Pro because of it. It seems like they broke my V3 cams so that you have to get the V3 Pro. I’m still looking for a fix for my V3’s slow jerky slow motion video playback. It’s time to try to find a different company and brand of cameras because with each update, there is always something going wrong and false alerts, etc.
The one thing that is top priority seems to be language. They sure make sure that is fixed right away.
I suggest no mod/edits unless the system is fixed.
I think that stuttering event video playback made it onto the January Fix-it-Friday list, but they are still requesting more log files. I have stuttering on Event playback on my V3 pro too (not just V3), it seems to happen when “Record Sound” is turned OFF under advanced settings. Does not happen for all people though, that is why they want log files.
Thank you for the information. I hope that they will fix it soon because it’s been happening for a long time, well over a year.
Why so many firmware updates? Please WYZE, endeavor to do your Beta testing BEFORE you rush an update to the whole community! Did it occur to anyone there to just do it right the first time? Repeatedly having to make updates shows a lack of competence. Please remember that some of us use the cameras for remote monitoring, and driving across state just to re-boot manually because of faulty firmware is a real inconvenience. Being offline without warning poses real security threats to some of us, too.
This is the first time sam7 has posted — let’s welcome them to our community! Thanks sam7
Wyze, [Mod Edit] now?
9 cameras plus my Wyze outlet suddenly go off line and I can’t get them back. I mean, it seems like you a seriously working VERY hard to drive customers, loyal and otherwise, to another product. But good thing you developed a remote car and a scale. Time to ditch you and get with a real company. I’m sure this is a YOU problem and not a me problem because a few of the cameras are still connected. How are you allowed to sell a product (and a subscription service) for something this bad? I think it’s time to find some one to contact about this (FTC, CPA?) and start looking for remedies.

Damn…
When it works, it’s really great.
But what a nightmare when you drop the ball…
Been having issues all day again with a couple of my cameras in the app. Live view on the web works, but my Pan V2 and Ring V2 keep disconnecting from the app. Won’t reconnect until someone sneezes and then they connect again. Powering down doesn’t work, just some random thing makes them connect again. This is getting ridiculous!
I will not do firmware updates. One camera has always failed to update its firmware right out of the box, trying to update for days. All of the other cameras suddenly “need” firmware updates and there is no way I’m going to update them. I’ve read horror stories of Wyze’s updates totally bricking cameras. No thanks!
I updated to IOS App 2.49.0.4 and all seems OK. After this update, the App advised that my Cam Pan V1 had new F/W 4.10.9.3006 so I successfully updated to that F/W and all seems OK.
I have some Cam V2s running F/W 4.9.9.2847 and know that 4.9.9.3006 is available but the App doesn’t think so. I also have some Cam V3s running F/W 4.36.11.7095 and know that 4.36.11.8391 is available but the App doesn’t think so.
Because so many folks are experiencing bricked Cam Pan V1, Cam V2 and Cam V3 devices while trying to update to the latest F/W, I will defer further F/W updates for some time. Perhaps it is fortuitous that the App thinks my Cam V2s and Cam V3s are using the latest F/W (when they are not). I’ll let that sleeping dog lie undisturbed.
My V3 events only stutter on the first playback. Subsequent playbacks work fine. I can assume this means the data has already streamed to my phone (for that event) by that point. Wifi not the issue, either. For a short time I tested a hotspot 2 feet away, which changed nothing.
