Battery Video Doorbell- feel free to CHIME in

I’m not using Wi-Fi Chime, but that would certainly be an option if you wanted to buy that and add it to your system. I have used the “Cameras as chimes” feature (which I think they should expand and rename) with compatible Cams, and that works pretty well for having those do double duty as accessory chimes.

If you learn that your house chime does work, then you can install Chime Controller and use that, but doing so requires you to power your Battery Video Doorbell with your home’s low-voltage AC via an appropriate transformer that’s also connected to the chime. That’s what I’ve been using for the main doorbell sound, and it works as expected.

I also have this integrated into Amazon Alexa, and doing that has been pretty good about letting me know both when someone approaches the porch and when a package shows up, even if no one presses the doorbell button.

Now I’m curious about some things:

  1. Which Wyze Cams have you attempted to use as accessory chimes?
  2. What kind of house chime do you have? This Help Center article talks about chime compatibility for Video Doorbell v2, but it should also be applicable to Battery Video Doorbell since they’re both capable of using the same Chime Controller.
  3. How are you currently powering your Battery Video Doorbell?
