Is there anyway to turn on night vision without having to go into the settings? You don’t have to do this with the other cameras. Also, can the spotlight be turned on and off, without going into the settings? Maybe I don’t want the spotlight to come on at all or maybe I want to manually turn it on at night, for a few seconds.
Apparently not. I just checked. I didn’t realize this before now. That is an inconsistency in the UI. I’m sure it is an oversight, albeit one I’m not sure anyone noticed before because most people have their cameras either never use nightvision or have it switch automatically and rarely manually change it. You always notice small details like this.
Sort of. I believe the way it works is that you can turn it on and off from the live stream, but only during the time you are streaming. Then it goes back to using whatever the spotlight settings are. I believe all the cameras with spotlights work the same way.
You’d think by now Wyze would have given this camera the option to turn on night vision on the main live screen, instead of in the settings. Considering that’s how their other cameras do it and a convienent faster way to see which looks better for your night conditions.
I have a camera that faces my front yard and driveway and don’t want to use this camera to replace it because it would come on every time someone walks by on the sidewalk at night. I prefer it to record the movement with just the starlight sensor or night vision being unnoticed. I don’t want it to be an annoyance to the people walking by or cars driving by. It’s currently acting like the Wyze Floodlight, and I don’t like how that does it this way either. Give us a setting to turn off this automatic spotlight on thing for at night.
I am a bit confused. You can turn off the BCP Spotlight auto feature by toggling off the sunset to sunrise box in the spotlight settings. You can do the same on the floodlight pro in the floodlight settings area. Simply turn it off. Note: the setting in the floodlight area is called Motion and Ambient light.
Is that what you are looking for?
You are correct. I misread what the setting said. I just tried it out and it didn’t turn on the spotlight, which is exactly what I wanted. Thank you for pointing that out!
My Pleasure. Glad it worked for you.
