When I view the live feed, the spotlight flashes on and off. Is there a way to prevent the spotlight from turning on when I view the live stream? I still want it to activate on motion, just not when I view the live stream.
You want to have your cake and eat it too?
j/k
I honestly haven’t tested to see if there is a way to do it, so if there is, I’ll let someone else speak up.
I mean, what good is cake if you can’t eat it?
It’s perfect for food fights, centerpiece art, or the ultimate display of self-control. Or it’s just a really fancy, non-edible paperweight, among many other potential uses and symbolism.
What good is cake after you eat it and it’s not there anymore? None! It’s gone, and now you have sugar crash. You’re flying high on a cloud of frosting and delight, and then—bam—you hit the ground, left with crumbs and an empty plate. And don’t get me started on the guilt that follows if you overindulge. Cake is all a Catch-22 conspiracy.
As for the Spotlight…IDK for sure, but I just checked and one of mine turned on automatically too, then turned off right after and stayed in nightvision. But the other one Didn’t turn on the spotlight when I started livestreaming. I am not sure what the difference is, but apparently it is possible. I thought both of them have the same settings with auto nightvision, power saving mode, IR lights on, Spotlight from sunset to sunrise, etc. I don’t know what to tell you though. One does it and the other doesn’t apparently.
I’ve been over indulging for a year after my near death experience (1 because for 15 years prior there were lots of things I couldn’t eat as they made me so ill and now they don’t bother me and 2 life is short and much to my chagrin I am apparently NOT immortal). Ain’t nothing wrong with a sugar high and no regrets here! Lol
Hmm I have 2 as well. I’m gonna check my other one now and see if it does it too.
I’ve heard that the cake is a lie, but I’ve never actually played Portal.
As for the Battery Cam Pro, I probably should’ve just stayed out of this topic because I don’t have one, but y’all are too much fun to resist.
Yeah, I normally limit being this playful to the watercooler, but when our beloved towel queen finally shows back up from vacation and actually has questions, I just have to make sure she wants to come back again soon.
I didn’t have a lot of useful info either…1 cam does it the other doesn’t. That isn’t very helpful
Awww shucks y’all.
I promise I’m normally a very dull person. I watch birds for goodness sakes. I will say that I loved being able to watch my cameras for my birdies from the hospital and my folks house while I recovered last year. Up until my husband stopped filling the feeders (bless his heart he was run ragged between work, the hospital and my mom’s, and trying to keep up with the house stuff I usually do).
And the spotlight thing is just a minor annoyance because I really only use it to watch the bird feeder, but I can see my driveway and people walking up to the door.
So typical of you. (

I seriously wish I could provide genuine help. The one thing I think of when reading this is a recent topic about outdoor cameras generating motion events when they’re turned on by an automation, so I wonder if some similar sort of logic is happening here, like maybe Battery Cam Pro is kind of sleeping until a user nudges it by opening the Live Stream, and then it sort of pops awake and flashes the light for a moment as an automatic response.
I don’t know if something like that is happening or not. It’s just a guess, and I don’t have one of those to play with, so, again, I should .
That was my thought, too, but I didn’t see anyone else ask this question so figured I’d put it out there as a slight annoyance. Lol
Wait…birds won’t be eating at night when the spotlight would come on
j/k you said you also use it for other viewing too…but then if you are watching someone walk up to your door, wouldn’t it turn on the spotlight anyway because of the motion?
I actually have one I use for a birdfeeder in my front yard too, but I turn the spotlight off on that one. If needed at night, it uses the light from my porch light or my floodlights.
Sometimes I use it to spy on the crazy neighbor. It picks up voices really well even if I can’t see what’s going on.
Not to mention being a Rock Star. How does he do it all?
He’s looking more like a BeeGee than a Foo Fighter these days.
Don’t tell him I said that.
You know about this, right?
Yes! They released a whole album of BeeGee songs. Hail Satin! Lol
I know. It’s awesome! I also recommend Weezer’s “Teal Album” of covers. I got to see both bands in concert once, and Weezer (who had the earlier set) performed a cover of Foo Fighters’s “Big Me”, which was an unexpected treat.
