I bought 2 Wyze Battery Cam Pro units with solar panels two years ago. Everything worked fine at first when installed high in a tree. However, just a few days after installation, one camera completely lost connection.
Being in a wheelchair, this is a huge problem for me, so last week I asked a neighbor to help take it down. At first, I thought the solar panel or Wi-Fi might be the issue. But I found out the battery was fully charged, and even when connected directly via USB-C, the camera does not turn on. The green light flashes for a second and then nothing. I tried resetting it multiple times, but it still does not work.
Wyze support offered me only a insignificant after lots of chats. I have also previously had issues with almost all my Wyze V3 and SD cards failing, but I managed to replace those paying new V4. This Battery Cam Pro, which cost much more and worked only for a couple of days, is now completely dead.
Wyze support says it’s out of warranty and cannot do more, despite me showing that the firmware is old and that the camera never worked properly after a few days. I have lots of videos documenting the problem that I sent to Wyze, but the forum only allows small uploads here.
This is extremely frustrating, and I hope Wyze takes note of these serious hardware reliability issues.
You said you bought it 2 years ago? Not sure what Wyze would be able to do after that long, the warranty is only 1 year. Why didn’t you log a case with them back when it stopped working?
How do you know that the battery is fully charged? Going by the battery picture you provided, it isn’t. One greenlight means the battery is charging; 2 green lights, means it’s fully charged.
If you’re connecting a USB-C cord to the BCP and the battery is dead, it likely won’t power up, either.
I suggest charging your battery but make sure that you see 2 greenlights, before using it again.
Battery Two green lights
Camera is death tried with other battery from my other camera bought same day working fine always.
This one worked for only two days.
Because i am in a wheelchair living alone and need help from someone else to disconnect it from a very high tree.
I always ask for help and i was wondering it was my wi fi prblem and not the camera then (now) i can say the camera was the problem.
