Case in point… one bug on this page. Replying to someone’s (anyone’s, really) comment, one would think you would reply to that person’s comment as there are “reply” links to the right of everyone’s comments.
But as I type now, after hitting that “reply”… I’m apparently replying to the whole thread with no reference to whoever I was originally replying to.
Fail.
Then, after submitting and refreshing the page, I see my reply was inserted below the person I was replying to.
Very poor presentation. Not intuitive at all. Promotes confusion.
I just ordered the camera and saw this forum. I am a newbie and somewhat capable of using technology. What I like about this camera is the simplicity of setting it up…really looking forward to getting it. I went through the survey and did not realize I had a forum ID yet. So if you can use a newbie please pick me pb062384.
I would like to be considered for the Alpha testing program. My main gig is custom database application design and data analysis, and computer tech support. I’ve taught college classes, written software user manuals, and communicate well. I’m a relentless puzzle-solver, understanding that there’s “always” more than one way to do things. I’m also very interested in security and have just placed an order for 6 of your version 2 cameras, two for myself and four for friends and family. We’re all going to experiment and compare notes, so why not share the info. Thanks for considering me.
I think. Most are missing one key element… Beta Testing is not about the level of expertise, It’s for anyone… We Have to think well outside our tech/geek boxes guys and gals… The average consumer usually does not have as much in depth skill as we do…
Case in point : My wife hates being on a computer (She uses one to input finances via a POS work system). She doesn’t know the tech world like I do (Light years ahead of her) and she doesn’t wanna know it. She wants to be able to click something and it “Just work”…
I said all that to say this: The testing is for anyone who has the time to test the product… Thus far I’m thankful that the WYZE team have allowed all levels of knowledge to join. This includes people with “0” knowledge about electronics (Which in my opinion is good!).
Beleive it or not, Testers with “0” experience bring light to things us super geeks sometimes look over…
Ive said all of that to say this :”ANYONE” without experience should still sign up! This is a learning experience you will never forget!
definitely a contender here. My current cameras on constantly as I’m disabled, and my husband checks on me live real time from work each day. Will gladly give constructive observations during the alpha trial. Have multiple platforms, as my mother and sister constantly check on me as well. Thanks for thinking of me – Kay
My wife is the kind of person who just wants things to work. I love figuring things out and making things work. I do a lot of technical/server troubleshooting in my day job. I also like to be on the bleeding edge of things. I would love to be considered for the alpha testing.
I couldn’t agree more with this statement. Reading all these comments about XX years of ‘experience’ doing XYZ doesn’t help the person who is going to buy this or any other device as an ‘average consumer’.
Awesome product getting better. Ideal configuration is to be able to update firmware remotely, so that new features can be available to everyone, not just those buying the next model. This significantly helps to keep customer satisfaction as well as the product in a top position.
It appears this machine is using interesting recording methods.
I want to test further, it rememinds me of amazon ESP or the multiple sensors that are on most modern cellphones (the camera is on before the picture is taken. dont tell snowden)
I would love to test your new product. I have been a WYZE CAM fan from the beginning. I have bought over a dozen of the cameras to give as gifts and have told many friends about your amazing product.
