I started toying around with the “automations” feature in the app and now my phone does not notify me of any movement when any of my cameras are triggered. I’ve done everything I could think of and tried mostly everything I’ve read online. What * haven’t done was uninstall the app and then reinstall it as I’m not sure what that will do with my subscription. Any advice out there? Something else I may not have thought of? TIA
Welcome to the Forum, @brian.j.andrews2!
A good start would be providing detail about your app’s current notifications settings. You can check how it’s set for individual cameras (typically something like Settings ➜ Notifications ➜ Manage) and also look at Account ➜ Notifications ➜ Push Notifications to see at a glance which devices have notifications enabled.
That shouldn’t affect your subscription. If you don’t want to try that step just yet, then you can clear out your local profile information and force the app to grab a fresh copy of your local profile/settings from Wyze’s servers.
This is how I would get a clean copy of my account profile/settings on Android (click/tap to expand):
- Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
- Navigate back one screen to Account and tap Log Out at the bottom.
- Swipe the Wyze app out of the running Android apps.
- Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (on the phone’s home screen or wherever you tap to initially open the app) and then tap App info in the pop-up menu.
- Tap Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm) and then tap Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache and Clear storage on the Storage screen.
- Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap Open and proceed to log back into your Wyze account/app. (Optionally reboot the phone at this step for good measure and then launch the Wyze app after the fresh boot instead of relaunching it immediately from this screen.)
Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform.
I’d verify that all the in-app notifications settings are correct first, though, and also check Android’s notifications settings for the Wyze app.
