All Wyze Cameras Go Offline

I bought a Wyze Pan Cam V3 and it worked great for weeks so I bought two more. Then they started just going offline for no reason, then started working again, and then going offline again. I have seen this is a problem and I am computer savvy and know it is not a problem with my power or internet. I have two cameras plugged into the same outlet and one will go out one day and then the other will go out the next day, or only one goes out. There is no rime or reason.

As stated in so many threads is that the only way to get the camera back online is a power reset. I find that insane. Any other device I have will reconnect to the WiFi on its own. I moved one camera within a few feet of my router and it still has the problem of going offline.

I bought a hard wired doorbell V2 and figured it would work fine. Nope! It goes offline every single day and is within 10 feet of my wireless router. It is beyond annoying as I have to go to my breaker box to flip a breaker switch the doorbell is on to power reset it. I have to do this every day! I even try doing a restart of all of my cameras each day but it does not help and I should not have to.

What is the use of having these cameras if I can’t view them when I am not home or can’t reset them with a power reset. Obviously they still have power as I record to the SD card and it keeps recording. I have no other devices that can’t just reconnect to WiFi on their own if there is some type of issue. I can’t believe this company is selling this product with a known problem and not pushing out an update. All of the cameras are great in every way except the fact the lose connection and must be reset via a power reset. This is absurd! Please fix this!

They’re working on it:

That’s assuming you don’t have Xfinity with an XB7 gateway…in which case, it could exacerbated by a different issue too.

Hope they are working on the doorbell as well.

I’m not sure about the doorbell v2. I have 2 of them and mine have never gone offline. I have heard others found a couple considerations with the doorbell though. For some people, they found that their transformer sometimes wasn’t getting enough power to the doorbell and replacing it fixed their offline issues. Other people found success by removing the chime controller and found everything worked just fine without the chime controller (only works this way for mechanical chimes). Wyze also posted some alternate wiring instructions for people who have problems with the normal wiring:

One of those might solve your issues with the doorbell. I can only tell you that neither mine never go offline. :man_shrugging: So I am not sure why yours is doing that, but it could be worth contacting support over it. If mine weren’t working, I would certainly contact support.

As a troubleshooting step, if you run only a single cam does the issue go away (it seemed like it was fine when you only had one)?

I’m thinking potentially something with your router having trouble maintaining 3 simultaneous connections to the same servers, or possibly not enough bandwidth on your wifi etc. ISP provided routers are notorious for having inexplicable issues like this, not sure what router you have.
