Alexa Routines Not working

Just a thought. I would disable/re-enable my Kasa/Tapo/TP-Link skill.

I have V3 camera and it is working for me. If I remember correctly, you need to have a Amazon Alexa USA account in order for it to work.

Hmmm, I don’t have any Kasa skills in Alexa. Are you saying that I need to create a skill first?

Edit: I get the error when I select the Wyze V4, can’t even get to the part where I select the Kasa bulb.

That’s not fair to all of us north of the border

Edit: Is this Wyze or Amazon decision?

I think it is Amazon decision. I’m in Canada, but I linked my Alexa devices and app to the Amazon USA account.

What a pain. Oh well,. I’ll find something else to play with

Oh, that makes a difference. I have heard Brian on Automate Your Life discuss how some, but particularly the Wyze skill does not work in Canada. His fix was create a Amazon U.S. account, or change his address to a U.S. address and enable the skill.

I would have said that before too, but I didn’t know you were in Canada. no disrespect intended.

I don’t think there’s a specific Kasa skill. I think it tucked under TP-Link. I have a couple of Kasa smart plugs and the were already working under Alexa, I guess because I was using TP-Link before.

None taken. Thanks for the info.

Guys, I think I was the original complaint and I did escalate to Wyze with no Fix. This is definitely a Wyze Issue who are Not Supporting Canada on this Trigger Function. (If Motion or Person is Detected). Funny too, this used to work a couple years back. I had it working but then could not create new or modify my existing Conditions.
My workaround is to use a free IFTTT account to Turn On a Dedicated Smart Plug. Then Alexa Routines when it gets that Trigger… Plays Intro Voice, Turns on Lights, etc . Your Routine must also Turn off the Smart Plug to ready it for the next IFTTT Trigger.
Works well but not as Smart as Wyze (Person Detection), and I think the free IFTTT account only allows 1 or 2 Triggers.
Maybe if enough of We Canadians complain, Wyze might decide to support us.
Cheers Bert

For now I am using the spotlight on the V4 as a workaround. I might get a Wyze bulb and replace the Kasa, but then I might not.

Thanks for the info fellow Canuck
