The only temporary fix I’ve found is disabling the Wyze skill in the Alexa app and then re-enabling it. After doing that, the announcements work again, but only for about 10 minutes before they stop triggering. At that point, I have to repeat the process.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a permanent solution?
Haven’t had that exact issue, but I have had a routine running for years to change the speed of an air cleaner when a Wyze motion sensor doesn’t sense motion that is failing.
Same issue here. My Wyze contact and motion sensor routines in Alexa have been solid for about 5 years and stopped working roughly a week ago. Sensors still trigger and log events fine in the Wyze app, but their state never updates in Alexa, so the routines never fire.

Same here. None of my motion sensors will trigger Alexa routine actions. Disabling Wyze skill in Alex and relinking fixes it for a short time, then it stops working again. I’ve done every troubleshooting step possible but no luck. Wyze needs to address and FIX this or they’ll lose this long-time customer.
I spoke with support and submitted a log via the wyze app about this issue and shared a link to this forum post so they could see that other customers are experiencing the same problem. I hope it’s resolved soon, as I rely heavily on the Alexa integration.
0 The same thing has happened to me. I have one camera on Cams Plus and have it so that the Alexa skill would announce person detection on all of my Alexa devices. This weekend it just stopped working after 3 years.. I’ve tried everything to fix it to no avail. I don’t know if there’s a common theme amongst us all, but I’m in Canada. I reached out to Wyze via chat today and they aren’t aware of any Alexa integration issues. Clearly something is offside on their end with the skill because I can’t even enable person detection notifications via the skill like I could before.
Same thing here for sensors and cameras, and Amazon is saying they have an issue, I am wondering if so many who use this skill and get alexa announcements for their cameras and sensors just expect things fix themselves without needing to reach out to both wyze and amazon support and say it’s broken, why wyze hasn’t listed this as something they’re addressing, why it’s not fixed after 4 days now?
I see this issue is going around for everyone who actually has a wyze device triggering an Alexa routine. I can say re-linking last about 10 minutes, then the problem continues. This is not a Alexa issue as some have stated. Wyzes smart integrations page will even briefly tell you their service is temporary not working if your linked to Alexa already. Even Google search has a prompt response for the issue, since in the last 9 days there have been over 60k Google searches for wyze Alexa issue. Wyze blames Alexa, and vice versa. Wyze is using some outdated api’s, and normal computing handshakes are no longer occuring. There is nothing us as users can do, unless your tech smart. I rolled back my wyze app to 3.18 version and so far everything is working between Alexa and wyze. But I had to reinstall both applications (cleared cache before uninstall). That was my way, but I would not recommend it. Just wait for a fix. They need to create a release that fixes this issue, but it doesn’t seem to be a priority for them right now. I’m attaching a picture of smart integrations on the wyze app. You’ll notice the brief pop up they give you at the bottom.
Update: It looks like the integration started working on its own this morning. Sensor states are now updating in Alexa again and the routines are firing. No changes on my end, so it appears Wyze’s fixed something on their side. Let’s see how long it lasts… hoping for more than 10 minutes.
