Sounds awesome! there is an unoficial wyze api on github that you could use as a resource for your project. Keep me updated
It would be great if we could delete and/or replace cams in the Web-view. Iāve got old outdoor cams which are not supported in the beta which Iāve upgraded to V3 cams and I have Cam Plus on all of them. However, I canāt see them in Web-view because the old cams are still there under the same name.
You have multiple cameras in your account with the same name? That could cause lots of problems.
My system is that every camera is numbered - both with a P-Touch label on the camera, and as the first few characters of the ānameā. For example: ā26 - Temp Dashcamā. The assigned location and therefore the name may change over time (and many have), but the camera number never does. The numbers are assigned sequentially from the first camera that I bought. I also have a spreadsheet that lists activation date, what kind, size, and date of uSD card, if that camera is forced to a specific WiFi (if not the normal one), the location, and any other notes (for example one camera notes that the blue status LED is dead).
No, theyāre all different. However, I replaced older Outdoor Wyze Cams with the newer V3 Wyze Cams and reused the name. The old Outdoor Cams have been removed. The point is that it appears that Live View still thinks theyāre the older outdoor cam and telling me theyāre not supported. So I believe i need to delete them and reload them to ārefreshā what live view thinks they are.
On your laptop or computer for live view, have you cleared your cache?
Web page event viewer thumbnails too dark to see. Must hover on them for preview. Suggest make like Android viewer
Lost about 8 hours of events yesterday. ~1pm to 7pm
Web page viewer; fit video to screen so I can see camera time on image at bottom.
Itās now been quite a while since I reported this, but the problem still persists. It seems like such a trivial change would be needed to make the behavior consistent between whether the recording was triggered by sound or motion. Itās gotta be one flag that is set on the fileā¦
If there is a specific reason why videos cannot be downloaded (in web View only) if they were motion triggered I would certainly like to know what that is. Otherwise someone was just being sloppy in the implementation.
This is a Wishlist topic. I.e., we are asking Wyze to implement this feature. It is not a bug/issue to report as the feature doesnāt exist. Web View is not even a 1st stage finished product. Features for beta products are rolled out with no notice. We (users) donāt have access to what Wyze has planned for Web View. Perhaps @WyzeJasonJ can obtain an answer for you.
My Wyze Cam v3 watches my driveway and a good portion of our cul-de-sac. It captures videos of people walking by, cars turning around in the cul-de-sac, the trash truck picking up our trash, and a variety of other activities. Once in a while, an event occurs that I wish to download to my computer. So far, this is only done in two ways:
- tap the video clip on my Android phone and download the clip to my phone.
- Remove the SD card from the camera and download its contents to my computer.
Number 2 is impractical, because the camera is mounted on my house, 10 feet up from the ground above my garage. I need to get out an 8ā step ladder, climb up and greatly disturb the cameraās mounting position to get the SD card out. Also, I have the SD card receiving continuous streaming, so finding a triggered event on it is very tedious.
Number 1 does grab the video clip, but it downloads it onto my Android phone memory where it is rather tedious to find it and download it to my computer. The easiest way seems to be to hit the share button and copy it to DropBox or some other cloud storage service that I can access from my computer. Then, when I get it, the file format is strange. There is no identifying suffix, like .MP4, .AVI, etc. It is just a big ugly hexadecimal number like: 9cfd7593-0091-46f6-bc27-a094108f7ab0. On my computer, I have to guess at what application to use to open it. I happen to have some video utilities that I can use to convert it to .AVI, or other known formats, but lot of people probably donāt have such applications.
I did find an easier way to grab a video clip. I play the clip using the beta version of view.wyze.com/events?ā¦ that very nicely plays the clip on my Windows computer. Then, I use Techsmith Snagit to record the video as it plays, and it stores it nicely as a .MP4 file on my computer. But a lot of people probably donāt have that program either.
My wish is that the Wyze web view service be extended to provide a button to download the clip to my computer in a known format with the appropriate file tag, such as .mp4.
Good idea. A free screen recorder is OBS, people could do the same thing - capture the video as it plays in the browser.
Web View - Event Filtering by time period
Please ADD a Filter by time on videos recorded under the āEventsā section.
Hourly filters would be nice if I know a time period of events I am attempting to see. Without this, if I want to see what happened at 2Pm yesterday, I will go to events and have to scroll for a long time, past every video taken starting at 11:59 PM. Depending on how many cameras are in use, or the sensitivity of the camera to record events, this can end up being a lot of videos to scroll past.
Currently, the hourly time stamps in army time donāt collapse as they should. I canāt click the 23:00 v dropdown to hide the videos under the 23:00 section, they just remain with no visible changeā¦

Web View - Fast-forward, rewind, time scrubbing ideas for Events
This year for Christmas, I would like,ā¦a functional Wyze Website
I donāt understand why the Wyze Web is so unusable as compared to the app. I understand that youāre in beta, but it seems like its been that way (as a beta) ever since Iāve begun using the app. There is a plethora of functional differences between the app and the website, most of which seem easily fixable, and I now start to worry that Wyze is pushing me to use the app over itās website.
Please ADD time scrubbing to the website function on videos recorded under the āEventsā section.
This would be insanely more helpful and I donāt understand why it hasnāt been implemented already

Why not make it available to Cam Plus Lite as well ? ( Perhaps money, money, money, thatās why not)
Wyze Web View - Enable Fast-forward or Rewind
On Wyze Web View, when viewing events enable being able to fast-forward, or rewind, or scroll with the playback button to specific times we want to observe.
Currently when viewing an event, we are only able to play, and pause. Letās say I want to review something from 10 seconds earlier and I am 5 minutes deep into watching a video, I now have to play from the very beginning all the way to that point, instead of being able to rewind to 10 seconds prior. This really limits functionality of any review process.
Thanks!
View Playback from SD Card on Computer PC
Why cant I watch "View Playback from my SD Card on my computer. I can only do it from my phone? This function is only available from the phone. It would be great to have all the functionality from the Phone App on the Computer. I should also be able to download video & pictures straight to my computer.
Great Idea!
I have exactly the same problem I donāt ask for much just a continuous feed on my PC but everyday I have to log in I pay for cam plus so I can view on PC I wonāt be paying for it anymore
The ability to download videos from the website/app directly on your PC would be very convenient, allows more free space for your mobile devices and better managing/organizing of videos. It would also make it less of a hassle to put them on a portable hard drive if needed. Thoughts?
I donāt think that fits the Wyze business model? They want to maintain control of all the output from your camera. You can not even use the camera unless it first makes a connection to the Wyze servers.
The best option would be to download from an onboard SD card on the camera, as that would not require the files to be sent across the internet.
I have found numerous times when the cameras miss an event and do not record to the server or notify me of the event. If we could offload the SD card content, there are many ways to review the files for missed events or to see an event that occurred that was not noticed or happened in the past.
I donāt think this will ever happen as it does not fit with the Wyze pattern of controlling the camera files, so they can make money giving us access to them.
These cameras are just something we buy so Wyze can sell us the videos.
YMMV

I still would like to be able to directly download my videos from the web portal, for many of the same reasons others have mentioned. I want these videos on my computer. Better viewing, backup and ability to archive on a hard drive. The only path is still to download to my phone and then copy OFF of my phone to my computer. Usually this involves uploading FROM my phone to some intermediate storage, and then AGAIN downloading the video, this time to my computer.
This has NOTHING to do with a Wyze business model to sell us videos as a previous poster mentioned. It is simply a much more EFFICIENT way to download our EXISTING videos.
