Hello new to the forum I am trying to install my new wyze thermostat but having trouble I will do my best to explain and hopefully get some help the existing thermostat is a Honeywell two wire at the tstat those two wires run down to an electronic interface module. There is four remaining wires not connected at the t stat or the EIM there are 8 wires that go from that to the heat pump mother board itself I will post the pictures in order I am pretty mechanically inclined but this has me stumped any help would be great.
The forum is only letting me post one image being I’m new.
I would need to see the thermostat side of this…
@carverofchoice can they have the ability to post more pictures please?
Here is the thermostat connection the first picture I posed was in the EIM the top two wires in that box connect to the thermostat the remaining wires are attached to the heat pump
This is the wiring in the heat pump let me know anything else needed this is kicking my butt. I have four spare wires at the tstat and the EIM box.
What kind of thermostat is this? Also, any branding or module number on the EIM?
Edit: looked into it and it’s a wireless bridge. So essentially the “thermostat” is just a display and interface for that board.
You’d have to remove it and wire up the wyze directly.
You’ve got a 6 wire thermostat harness? And needs 7 wires…
the brown Lo wire is probably a trouble light - not supported by wyze.
so, you could use the C adapter,
Can I see the colors of the available but unused thermostat wires?
Sorry for the delay speadie, I just woke up (long night working)
For future reference, a user can get to the next trust level automatically really quickly by doing the following:
So, I usually just tell them to search around for about 10 minutes and come back to this thread and they’ll be updated. That’s usually as quick or quicker than calling a mod (FYI, I’m actually not a Mod, so I usually just message the mods too) and waiting on someone else to do it.
Looks like in this case, the user was able to get more pictures posted though.
The existing one is a Honeywell prestige I. Have a 6 wire t stat wire harness but the heat pump has an 8 wire and all are hooked up in the Honeywell EIM
Thank you for the help!!!
Tell the wyze app your old thermostat has the following wires:
Y1, Y2, R, G, O/B, W
With the power to the heat pump off, hook the wires up as shown in the diagram, disconnecting them from the EMI. You will need some wire nuts to connect the wires. I have shown the proper wire colors to use in the diagram. Note that the green wire connects to G on the C adapter and C on the wyze.
Saweet!!! I will try this when I get home from work tomorrow I appreciate you
Yeah, speadie is definitely the man in here when it comes to Thermostat questions!
You are very appreciated speadie!
I have a similar system and the info you have been provided should get you going, but one big caution. Geothermal system run most efficiently when set at a constant temp and left alone. I’ve fought this battle for 19 years, first with the Honeywell tstat and now wyze. I set my wyze to hold a constant 68 in heating and overall it runs way less than when I had it set to 64 at night, 68 in day and 60 when away. My electric bill also went down. Good luck
Thank you everyone for the help got the wyze tstat up and running!!
