Sometime in the past week, 4 out of my 5 cameras had their detection settings reset to 1, The only one that did not was my most recently purchased one, although they are all the same models.
Could an app update have caused this?
(I am currently up-to-date on both Wyze app and iOS version.)
IPhone 13 Pro Max
UPDATE: Even after resetting the detection levels to 30, 40, even 100, they reset to level 1.
Yes, sometimes we see something like this happen when we update the app or the firmware, especially with Beta updates. In some past tests, we have even seen that the change shows at 1, but was actually still in effect where it was before. I guess it just depends. But it can be good sometimes after an update to do a quick scan of the settings for at least 1-2 cameras, and if everything looks good for that model cam, then the rest are usually fine, so you don’t have to look at every cam every time, and it doesn’t happen every time either. It usually doesn’t reset for me, but I have seen it a few times.
Now some of them that went to 1, now have a range of 0 at the bottom and 1 at the top, instead of 1 to 100.
That is weird. What firmware and app version are you on?
Is it iOS or Android?
Do you connect to the live stream first, then enter the settings? I ask because sometimes if you enter the settings but aren’t actually connected to the camera, it will show you the wrong settings because the camera isn’t actually connected.
All cameras are on 4.36.10.4054, which according to the app is the most current firmware.
iOS
Yes, I am connected to the cameras, watching the live view, select the gear top right, then select Detection Settings.
Then change the settings from 1 to 100, a little spinner appears briefly on the screen after I set it to 100.
“I ask because sometimes if you enter the settings but aren’t actually connected to the camera, it will show you the wrong settings because the camera isn’t actually connected.”
Testing this out, because what may be happening is that I may be going into settings while the camera is still connecting, even though mine connect pretty fast.
Of course, this still doesn’t explain why they all got reset to 1 in the first place.
Thanks, and I will follow up if needed.
