4.49.13.0653 Bricked two Wyze Cam Pan v2s

I love my wyze products, but the fact that 4.49.13.0653 bricked two of my V2s and two friends v2s that I recommeneded them to go with Wyze is bad. Red light, No luck factory reset or firmware flashing. Not my first roadio. Even worse, just few months out of the 1 year warranty on all 4. Now here is the crazy part. I still have two older Pan V1s and from 2019 and they are going fine. I don’t expect them to last forever, but I also do not expect to have to replace several cameras right after warranty because of bad firmware rollout.

Luckily nothing to report wrong at the moment on any of the V3s, floodlight or battery cams.

Since 2019 I never had my camera bricked by an update. Very interesting.

Thanks for the catch on that. Was pretty tired over all when I was writing that up.

In 2021 I had 1 of 3 v3 squares brick after update, But so did quite a few other people. Didn’t have any luck downgrading the firmware on that one. I think it was still in warranty and got replaced.

No problem. I just wondered if the word had a hidden meaning I wasn’t aware of.

Glad warranty paid off.
