3.0 App needs to be dumped

This app version is absolute garbage. I’ve been using Wyze since 2017. Even the old startup app is better than this (not kidding). My cameras don’t connect anymore. It is absolutely fkt. If the app worked I would be fine with the reorganization of pages and settings, but on iOS, it is slow and most of my cams are showing offline. Get it together Wyze.

I think the concept of what they tried to do with the new app is good but poorly executed.

I’m also having the same problem as others where the new app tries to connect to many cameras at the same time & overall access time to a particular camera feed is much greater.

I find that many times when going from the group view to a single camera view the feed takes 2 or 3 attempts to connect.
If the group view is already streaming, it should be seamless to view a single camera.

The have the resources to redo the whole app to where not many like it, but no special alarms can be set for some of the cameras or sensors???

It’s unreal. I can’t believe they did this. I wonder if they’re gonna go out of business because this is the nail and their coffin man oh my God it is so bad.
Yes, I noticed that too. It’s I can’t shut the camera off and I’m livid about the whole thing and I don’t know if I said this before but they had the audacity not to tell me that I accidentally purchased two of the same accounts and they were getting 129 each from me, two times a year and I was stupid and didn’t see it. Shame on me. They should refund me my money. They’re turning out to be scumbags.

Success! I uninstalled Wyze and was able to roll-back to a previous version and now everything works again. All my setting were saved.
Just make sure you go into Google Playstore BEFORE and change your network settings to DO NOT UPDATE.

Unfortunately, it’s only if you have an android I can’t roll it back. I use. Apple sucks to be me.!

Can someone create an EXTERMELY detailed list of the steps required to revert to version 2.50.9.512 using APK on an Android. I ended up at the APK PURE site where I tried but got all tied up downloading things i don’t think i need (like EZ Speed test and some help app).

I need stupidly simple instructions.

There is some hope here. Rollback which I will try. But I have to say Wyze what is wrong with you!

This is a terrible 3.0 app version, I can’t imagine this app making it through BETA testing. We need WYZE to immediately revert back to their previous IOS version, If they do not listen to their customers their subscription base will suffer and possibly their company as well, sad but a reality.

FWIW. Been using beta 3.0 since it went to beta. I have 8 cams, different models. When I first I stalled 3.0 beta I put all 8 cams in favorites. Disaster. So bad I turned all cams to lowest resolution. Didn’t help. What I observed is as you scrolled favorites the cameras in focus would start streaming. Timeouts, etc. Then I observed that all the cameras continued streaming (red light on) even if I left favorites. Even if I went to the “accounts” tab the cameras kept streaming. The o ly way to shut them up was to close the app.

Work around. Until Wyze fixes this I have a work around that is working. I put all 8 cameras in a group and put the group in favorites. Night and day difference. The cameras only start streaming when they are on screen focus. Most importantly they stop streaming when not in focus.

Results. Yes it is one extra click to open the group but the results are outstanding. I now have all cameras on max resolution. Before the app would crash/hang multiple times per day. Now on day three with no app resets and the cameras load fast(1-3 seconds).

Until the engineers fix this I am leaving all 8 cameras in a group.

sadly they’re not going to listen.

I’ve already canceled my subscription. The problem is they got our money and they’re not going to refund you or us. (I have already asked for a refund they told me no and to top it off. They were charging me double)
They’re just gonna let the time run out that’s one thing I really don’t like This.

Yes unfortunately it is time to start looking at changing providers. I have found Wyse to be tone dead when it comes to this type of thing. They need to allow a reversion to the old app or update and fix this one asap. You know this is safety equipment and they are asking for a law suit. My lawyer friend says wait till something happens that could have been impacted by the upgrade and then they are potentially in the mix.

It’s now acting like when you put cams into groups: you have to wait for all the live views to load. The more cams you have, the slower it loads!

This was a clear case for “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

Wyze has made the user experience worse, not better. Why???

It only streams cams which are in view, in group (4 cams at a time) and in Favorites (3 cams at a time). I put all cams at the bottom of Favorites page so that those cams will only stream when I scroll down to view them. I have 50+ cams, streaming speed is same as before.

I agree… 1,000,000% Most “re-designs” of apps today are done by people who haven’t yet figured out what a spoon or fork are used for. This app is definitely no exception to that. Companies do not care, and quality is at the bottom of the list as long as profit is made. They took something that needed NO revision at all, and destroyed it. Threw the baby out with the bathwater. Because hey, new is better and what got us our success doesn’t matter, right?

Likewise here… I was an early adopter of their cameras when the company was still nascent and in its kickstart stage. Back then when the customer base was relatively small, they can play it fast and loose, but as their customer base grew, they seemed to have lost sight that the fundamental purpose of their camera products is to provide a robust, simple to use camera monitoring and recording systems, so we, the customers, can all sleep better at night. Through the years, I can see how the company backend cloud network struggles to handle the ever growing camera feed traffics. As the feeds are coming from the cloud, more often than not, the feed would hiccup and all one gets is a still image. I suspect this may be part of the reasons that they have been late to put out any 4K products. Imagine if a bunch of 1K camera can already slow their network to molasses, how the network could survive if there are 4K streams in the mix! Counting on using the screen view as a means to control how many live streams that the cloud should send just seems hokey and accidental. I have no idea why they have moved away from the thumbnail solution that was there before!

Anyway, IMHO, writing negative reviews may be a good means to get Wyze sales and management attention. Money talks and if there are enough negative reviews to start driving down their sales, they may listen😅.

This “Update “ is absolute garbage! How could they ever have pushed that onto us!? Nothing works as it supposed to and it’s totally unintuitive and chaotic, a total mixed up mush. What did that Wyze team swallow? I’m sure they are all in the emergency room right now. Let’s just hope they didn’t die and are going to quickly fix this mess!!! - Puke … gag … more puke!

3.0 app update now the Wyze scale data has a dark background you cannot read the numbers for any data as it is in a very light illegible font. Changing app settings to light/dark/system makes zero difference. Liked it for weight tracking now app is unusable. Just revert back to the prior settings they worked for years you could actually read the numbers why change if it isn’t broken!!! Hello Wyze I’ll just post this in each discussion of how bad the app update is :slight_smile:
