I’m on a $49.99/yr Cam Plus 4 license plan which renews in Mar 2026. I understand that this package is going away, and I’ll begin to get charged for $29.99/yr x 4 = $119.96.
I see that currently Cam Unlimited is $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr. Certainly it would be a better deal for me to go with Cam Unlimited at the yearly rate, but it’s not clear if the $99.99/yr price will be increasing.
Can someone from Wyze confirm:
Will the Cam Unlimited yearly $99.99 price remain unchanged in Mar 2026?
What is the smoothest way for me to switch my plans? Should I wait until a few days before my current plan would renew, then cancel it and purchase Cam Unlimited?
I’m on a $29.99/yr Cam Plus 3 license plan which is going up to $89.97. Sorry Wyze this 3x is too much of an increase and I just cancelled. I have a lot of your items and enjoy them but 3x increase is not how Wyze has always been. I do have home monitoring service and hope you don’t increase that too or I’ll have to quit that too.
I always understood the four license plan to be a temporary promotional offer that would not be a normal low price. So I think that it’s less about raising price of that, than that he promotional period is just ending and going to the regular yearly price. I don’t think that there is much of a risk of them raising the price of cam unlimited imminently. But you never know.
I will only speak to what I would do.
In this situation, I would just switch to to cam Unlimited a week or so before the end date.
Typically speaking, when you upgrade a subscription, Wyze will cancel the lower tier subscription and credit the prorated amount as a credit to your account, or toward the purchase price of the new subscription upgrade. So it’s not too big of a deal if you switch early, but if you consider your old plan to be a cheaper rate for the same thing you’re going to be using, then waiting until closer to the deadline could save you a little bit of money in that sense, so that is probably what I would do personally.
As for whether Cam unlimited is going up in price, They haven’t announced that, and I don’t think it is anytime soon. But if you are really concerned that it might do so within the next month, you could just switch to unlimited early to lock in that price for at least the next year until the renewal date. I personally probably wouldn’t worry about that too much though for myself. Wyze also often does special pricing discount promotions. A few times a year they allow people to get unlimited for just $89.
