2.4 Beta Release on 6/12

We added several features related to person detection such as filtering events by person tags, person notifications and person trigger in Shortcuts. You can still submit feedback from the event page to let us know any false detections and scenarios where the model doesn’t perform as good as others. No PII is included and raw video will be used for training AI model only. Also, let us know how you like the person detection onboarding experience and what we could do better!

The Is left closed/open for is great! Would love to see a Is left closed/open after a specific point in time. That was if my contact sensor is open before I go to bed I can go lock the door.

No problem here.

I got it figured it out. Stuck on a bad WiFi channel.

Hi Roy! Thanks for the heads up. Installed IOS 2.4.50 on my aging 5C (I know, I know, get a new phone … but if it’s not broke …). Anyway, updated all four V2 cams with update all, without a problem. Set up person detection on two of the cameras. Everything running great. No problems to report at this point. Y’all do good work!

Updated the phone app on android and all of my cameras (v2 and Pans) as well as the sense bridge, everything is working smoothly! The person detection onboarding experience was smooth.

I’ve updated all four V2 cameras to the beta firmware … 4.94.4.89. And am running the new beta app.

When I go to the settings on the camera when I’ve installed the Sensor bridge, under Extended Devices, I see the toggle for Bridge Status Light … but when I toggle it off … I get error message “This Feature is not supported by the current firmware. Please upgrade to the latest version.”

When I click “upgrade now” with the error message, I get “Latest Version 0.0.0.33 … Installed Version 0.0.030.”

Then get warning about Sensor Bridge being updated. Guess I missed the prompt to update the Sensor Bridge. I’ll check back if all works after updating the bridge.

After updating the firmware on the bridge, I was able to toggle the Bridge light off!

My bad. Should have been able to figure that out.

But why didn’t the UPGRADE ALL prompt under the WYZE APP account update the cameras in addition to the Bridge?

Or at least include a prompt after the cameras update … to prompt users to update any attached Sense Bridge, if an update is available??

The status light control functionality needs both the latest bridge firmware and the camera firmware. Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. We are working on the it right now.

Updated to the latest from the Beta channel. I am now confused as to when you want us to mark a video for sharing. In the last beta, I could review each event and mark it for person detection, vehicle detection, person and vehicle detection and none of the above. In the new version, events are only tagged as person or motion and the only option is whether I want to share it to xnor or not. From what I read above, you want us to only report those things that are tagged incorrectly? I.e. if the tag is person, but no person is in the clip, share it, otherwise, just ignore it? Same for the only other tag, motion. If there is motion in the clip that we think should trigger an alert, notify xnor, otherwise ignore? It’s that ‘generic’ motion tag that is interesting, since it’s now up to us to determine what kind of motion we think should get elevated to important to tag…A vehicle could be one of them, but so could a skunk but not a cat? I am not sure that is the kind of training that going to be relevant…

No more bright blue light! Yay! Thanks for getting this feature into testing so fast. Upgraded all my cams, also upgraded the Sense bridge and was able to get the light to turn off. Also updated the app on my iPhone running public beta of iOS 12.4 beta 4. No issues so far seems fine.

Same can’t be said for the new app on my 6th gen iPad running the Developer beta of ipados 13. The bottom bar is blank and several other issues.

Hoping the thumbnail was a bit bigger, but it’s a pretty awesome update!

How do we tag if it’s a person or not? There was a person walking into my yard, but it only detected it as motion

First of all, this beta testing only involves person detection. The feedback is essentially the same as before. You would review each event and mark it if you see a person or not. We’d love you to review all of the events but with limited testing time, we’d prefer you to marking the incorrect ones.

Make sure person detection is enabled on that camera. Go to event video player and it should be at the bottom of the page.

Thanks. Figured it out. Didn’t realize clicking on the share button gave me three other options to identify as a person or not
