When I first bought my Wyze cameras I was able to use a 128GB SD Card and record with all 128GB worth of memory. Now with all the recent updates my 128GB SD Card is maxed out at 30GB. I am using the LEXAR 633X Micro SD XC I class 1 , 128GB. Does anyone have this same issue? Is there a fix for this? TIA
My 128GB cards are still working…
I’d download the SD card formatter from the SD Association and try doing a low-level exFAT reformat.
I just bought 2 64gb and 3 128gb cards. I’ve had zero issues with the 32gb version of this card so I think I’ll be ok. I’ll have to keep an eye on it. If I have issues thanks for the link @Seapup.
Thank you, I will try that format with my cards, hopefully it will work.
Due to the continuous wire/rewrite cycles on video cards the current recommendation is to use High Endurance cards Like These . Some manufacturers will not warranty other types of cards for video use. Some general Info on High Endurance Cards.
I also second @Seapup’s recommendation to use the Memory card formatter
And, as always, remember that Wyze only supports up to a 32mb card. That being caveated, many folks report successful use of larger. Personally, for the extra buck or so, I think the HE cards are cheap Insurance. I’ve had problems disappear when I switched out an older card
Yep for me I’ve only use these and they’ve worked perfectly. I’m stepping up to 64 GB and 128 GB so we’ll see if they still hold up.

For me, I personally haven’t run into the need yet for the longer storage, and the price difference between the 32 and 128 is a jump. This looks like a good card though- I’ve always liked SanDisk.
We use Sandisk Extreme 64gb cards with full capacity being used … and inserted straight out of the box without any special formatting software.
For the little extra hassle upfront, and no extra cost, and compared to the aggravation of playback issues and possibly the joy of climbing a ladder to change a card, I just go ahead and format. Just a personal preference - I like cheap Insurance!
Thanks😊 for the info. Yes, I always use SanDisk also, but when WYZE first came out the only way to get more then 32GB of storage was to use a LEXAR memory card. At the time SanDisk cards weren’t working to get more then 32GB. But now they been out a couple of years and since then there have been many firmware updates. I’m wondering if I can just try a SanDisk 128GB and see if it works.
Thank you, I’m going to try a 128Gb SanDisk. Hopefully that will work.
I would imagine you would have no initial problems, but, at the risk of repeating, “cheap Insurance’. I think you are picking a good card!
I have had the Sandisk Ultra 128GB in a Wyze Cam Pan with the continuous record feature enabled for over a year and suddenly it is not working anymore or for that matter not formatting anymore either. I was considering stepping down to a Sandisk 32GB Extreme but looks like the Sandisk Extreme 128GB might be okay. Not sure how important it really is to be in line with the 32GB/FAT32 formatting standard Wyze cams use. Also, is there that big of a difference between the Sandisk Ultra vs the Sandisk Extreme, any thoughts?
I have no idea what the difference is all I know is I’ve use the extreme and have no issues and I always just format mine in the camera themselves and everything is always been perfect
The Extreme cards are newer than the Ultra and the Extreme cards are better suited for video - the Ultra are better suited for still photo cameras.
The Extreme uses Ultra DMA to achieve read and write speeds twice that of the Ultra. Also, the controller technology in the Extreme is more advanced.
@myswtest Thank you for that information. That means I picked the right card. I’ve done something right for once. I’ll tell my wife so she can mark it on the calendar.
I have always formatted mine in the camera too. My Sandisk Ultra 128GB will not format in the camera anymore so it is probably completely shot.
Thanks for posting the differences…I agree that the Extreme is better suited for Wyze cams.
I just noticed that there is also a Sandisk “Extreme Pro” version out there…maybe that will be the next one to try if the “Extreme” fails…LOL!
I had a Wyze 32 GB microSD card to completely die on me today. It doesn’t respond in the camera or my PC. It’s been chugging along for 10 months. So I have bought another one of these Samsung Pro Endurance to replace it.

No, they all use Ultra DMA, the difference is that the Extreme line has more pins to have a higher theoretical max speed, which is why they say it is better for 4K video use, since that requires more bandwidth.
Do note that you will NOT see those speeds in Wyzecam.
