1.2 year old Outdoor Cam v2 won't charge

Bought Outdoor Cam v2 in July of 23. Have charged both wired and (more recently) with solar. Camera is currently at 0% charge and I cannot get it to take a charge plugged in to a wall outlet or the base station (recommendation of Support). Wyze support tells me that the unit is out of warranty and they are “…sorry that the unit did not meet my expectation of longevity.” Really Wyze - my expectation for lifespan of one of your products should be less than a year and a half? Does this meet your designed “expectation of longevity”? If so - lousy product offering and poor support.

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry this has happened to you, but batteries can have their life shortened due to various factors, mostly numerous discharge cycles to 0% as well as extreme temperatures while charging. In no way I am excusing Wyze for your camera not performing as expected, you just have to keep an open mind whenever using battery operated electronics.

I had something similar happen to me 2 or 3 times on my WCO v1. Battery dropped to 0 and then stayed there and wouldn’t work anymore. I don’t remember all the details of how I fixed it, but I think I plugged it into a charger (not solar) then after a few minutes I tried to go through setup again. I can’t remember if I attempted a factory reset or not. If I recall correctly, I even ended trying setting up my hub again

One thing I do know, don’t delete the hub or the camera off your app or it will be locked up forever. I remember it took me over an hour or 2 before I finally figured out how to get it to setup again and then it charged and went back to normal.

I wish I had more clear details for you…I can only tell you that I had something similar where my app showed the battery got to 0, the camera went offline and stayed offline and I had to do something including go through setup all over again, but after that it went back to normal. I think there is just some rare glitch that when the WCO on a solar panel gets to 0 battery sometimes it will unpair from the hub somehow. It’s really frustrating, but try to set it up again and see if it comes back to life for you like it did for me.

Be sure to keep charging the camera with a wired power source for several days. When these type of batteries are discharged to zero, it may take quite some time to come back. Damage can occur when the battery deep discharges, so don’t let it discharge to 0%.
