Wyze Wi-Fi Chime Beta:
Version: 1.0.0.43
What’s new:
I opened official bug reports,
And 1974954, 1974589
V 1.0.0.43 on ipad, and iPhone.
I also posted it on one of the open chats to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issues.
The problem I’m having is after setting or changing the type of sound alert assigned to a particular camera, it will often play the default doorbell no matter what I set the sound to. And that default doorbell is coming out at the loudest volume as well..
It is distracting and confusing since I’m constantly looking at the front door to see who’s out there when there’s no one there.
I am on the latest version of the beta firmware look it up
I have chime attached to video doorbell as an accessory. The chime has firmware version 0.0.0.21.
the video doorbell is 4.25.1.368. I have IOS (iPhone) and have never had any issues like it changing to another ringtone or volume. I changed it to see if I could duplicate your but everything still works fine.

I’m on the beta release, doing the beta test so I have different versions here. Also, I have other V4 cameras triggering sound alerts on my Wi-Fi doorbell device
I tried to add a couple of the supported cameras to notify me via the Wi-Fi chime device and assigned specific sounds to these cameras when an event occurs. Unfortunately it keeps reverting to the default doorbell sound, no matter what sounds I assign., and at a very loud volume, I’m assuming it’s about level four.
I have a back door with a different manufacturers camera doorbell, so I assigned a sound to the WYZE camera I have monitoring the same area to sound a different doorbell so I know when somebody’s around the back door. The device is ignoring the setting and ringing the standard door doorbell sound.
Also I have a camera on my birdbath which I’ve assigned the bird chirping sound so I know when there are birds at my birdbath. The chime continues to ring the doorbell when that camera senses motion.
This is happening on multiple V4 cameras.
If you’re reporting what you believe to be a beta bug, then you’re probably going to get better visibility if you post to the relevant existing topic with details about the firmware and app version you’re using. For instance, the newest topic I see for Wi-Fi Chime firmware is Wyze Wi-Fi Chime Firmware Beta Test 7/15/2025, so I wonder if your post should be moved there if you want someone from Wyze to see it (since someone from Wyze Team created that topic). That would be a better place to track issues, I think, but first it’s important to know what firmware version(s) you’re using on the affected product(s).
Also, if you can reproduce the issue, submit a log from the app immediately afterward, and then post that Log ID along with a detailed description of the issue (including relevant app and firmware versions, etc.), then hopefully that would get picked up by the responsible developers or product team for action while the firmware is still in beta status.
I opened official bug reports with the beta team,
I just posted it here in case anyone else was experiencing the same
Help me understand this, please.
I got this message, but cannot find where to find (below) nor do I see any VOTE Button.
I believe the Moderator who moved your post may have pasted in haste from a template, but you can ask the Moderator specifically to be sure, because I’m just speculating.
So, has anyone else been experiencing this problem? Of course I’m a beta tester as others, I had two cameras set up to chime and they were both working just fine for months. When I attempted to connect a couple more suddenly mayhem broke out. The selected chimes were not playing as assigned, but the default dingdong came out instead.
Could be the beta software?
I haven’t read other reports to that effect, so I can’t say if your experience is isolated or related to the beta firmware or app or not (absence of evidence not being evidence of absence, etc.). I don’t have a Wi-Fi Chime, and I’m not currently using a public beta app, so I’m the wrong person to ask.
I don’t interpret
as being relevant to your experience, because the oldest public firmware version I see posted for Wi-Fi Chime is 1.0.0.42. I think the mention that
is an indication that @djofsv is using Video Doorbell v1 (the numbering scheme is a better match) and its own Wyze Chime, which is a different product, but I’m just guessing without more detail.
If you’ve done any troubleshooting (device resets, deleting/adding to app, etc.), then sharing some details about that in addition to any Log IDs you’ve generated might be helpful.
I have, and I’ve opened a couple of cases but I’ve seen no chatter in here about it anywhere so I keep trying to start a discussion to see if anyone else is experiencing it but I just keep getting redirected to go to different chats and I have no idea where the right place would be for this discussion.
If you believe that what you’re experiencing is related to the beta firmware you’re using on your Wi-Fi Chime, then I think this is the right place for it.
Thank you!!
Same issue here with V4 and battery cam pro. Not sure what beta software is. My firmware is 1.0.0.43
