So, I’ve been having a persistent issue recently with my Wyze Cam4. I have a dedicated tablet on my wall to live-stream the cam4 at the front door anytime. It’s worked for years with no issues. Recently, the live stream has been constantly disrupted by Error 13. I assume it was bricked during a firmware update, and Wyze is replacing it. But I just noticed that I do not encounter the same issue using Wyze Web. No connection breaks. Do you have any thoughts?
Live stream uses a bit different method to send the video to the web.
You can try manually updating the firmware on the v4 using SD card to rule out a bad firmware update, but I’d try uninstalling and reinstalling the Wyze app. The 3.0, 3.0.5 and 3.1.0 seem to not upgrade well, and require a clean install to eliminate gremlins.
Did anything else change in your environment, new router, new ISP, updated your phone to IOS 18, etc?
EDIT TO NOTE
NOTE - do not uninstall the app if you are still on the 2.X version. That likely means your device is not compatible with 3.x and you can no longer do a new install of 2.X!!
new cam, fresh ipad install, same problem! No other changes. We use a mesh network but that has never caused issues in the past.
Cam and Ipad running on the same wifi network? If you think it may be firmware related you can manually downgrade the cam to the previous version and see if it improves.
Is this another one of those iOS 18 issues that requires a permission to be enabled like this?
I asked about 18, assumed no since it wasn’t answered but definitely something that should be confirmed. Though from the symptoms it sounds like it works sometimes then stops, so that’s not the same as others were seeing (I don’t think).
I’m a bit surprised how many apple users are willing to be on beta/rc.
I dig. Then there was that “fresh install” comment, so I figured it was worth asking again and pointing to a potential solution if that’s the case. I noticed that @11A isn’t showing/reporting the same error code as has been reported elsewhere with iOS 18, so I agree that this might be a different issue.
On one hand, I am, too, but I also think that a lot of Apple users have that constant itch for latest-and-greatest that they feel a need to scratch. [1]
I can imagine a 10 hour line to get the latest beta release.
Pass.
Hi all,
For better troubleshooting, I just:
- ipad on ios7 // fresh app install
- all settings correct / nothing new or changed
- i just took out the SD card to see if that changes things as I’ve have some currupted ones in the past play tricks on the cam
@ 1:07PM PT so let’s see how long it takes before it knocks out again
iOS 7 ???
iOS 7 Even I’m not that bad.
Perhaps they mistyped. The Wyze app, even 2.50.x, won’t run under iOS 7. I wish it did. I have a box full of old iStuff that no longer runs anything worthwhile.
I thought this user was running web view via browser though.
Not this Apple user. I still have an iPhone 13 and iPad 5th Generation running iOS 17. Ancient by Apple standards
I’m also still using my iPhone SE2020 and 4th gen iPad Pro. I will get a new SE 4 phone if it comes out early next year.
ios v17.6.1
just happened again at 16:04:01! The SD card wasn’t the culprit // I’ve done any and all other available troubleshooting. As soon as I refresh its fine so its just a momentary lapse that keeps happening
totally at a loss of what to do
You’ll probably need to try to narrow down what happened around the time it started doing this. App update? Firmware update? Change to your wifi?
