I am also having the same issue. Log ID 1856929
Just joined the Beta program and tried again, still no joy
I unfortunately made the same mistake. I don’t see myself entirely moving to this ecosystem. It’s no longer reliable.
If you need a temporary fix, which I am using and works, downgrade the app to version
3.2.2.526
It will complete the setup and remote unlock. Do not upgrade until a fix is available.
Easier and better solution. Uninstalled thee Wyze, bagged it up and returned to Amazon.
Bought a Tapo lock and doorbell, installed and works perfectly without all the hijinks. In the process of replacing all my Wyze cameras with Tapo and will likely end up giving all the Wyze stuff to Goodwill as I doubt it has any resale value used.
Any update on this? Clearly the issue wasn’t fixed with release 3.5.
For me, the only update was that i was right about resale value of the Wyze stuff - zilch. Donated it to Goodwill, although part of me feels kinda guilty in that someone else will possibly get to experience the frustration.
Side note - I installed the solar option on the Tapo C425 exterior and it’s amazing. Was able to tuck it away where it gets a couple of hours of direct sunlight and it stays at 100%.
Definitely not fixed. And I am running 3.5.5 (669). They even replaced my video doorbell pro and nothing. Very disappointing as I see the ad still says this is a sales feature.
I’m having the same issue. New Lock Bolt, I click on add accessory in Video Doorbell Pro, the Lock Bolt shows up and I select it, then the screen loads and shows it as selected. Then when I click the back button it shows no accessories connected.
Typing this issue into Support in the Wyze app I’m informed, “Unfortunately the Wyze Lock Bolt cannot be added as an accessory to the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. Only the Wyze Lock (not the Lock Bolt) can be integrated with the Wyze Video Doorbell Video feed for direct control.”
Directly contradicting their own sales/marketing video.
I asked for an update on this, because I see that a release candidate for the v3.6 app is now available, and I’m wondering if a fix has been rolled in yet. If anyone contributing to this topic is participating in beta testing the app, then looking into this and commenting here and in the Wyze App 3.6 RC topic might be helpful. I don’t have either of these products, so I can’t test them myself.
Welcome to the Forum, @igostoday & @shallmann! ![]()
after the update today v3.6.0(b673) i am able to add the door lock as an accessory to the doorbel now.
Good to know! Thanks for the update! ![]()
I see your other post in the RC topic. Thanks for doing that. If I understand your posts correctly, they’ve made some progress with this, but if the indicator’s status is incorrect then I’d reproduce the issue, log it, and then post your Log ID to that topic with a description of the problem. Hopefully that’ll point the developers in the right direction to look into this.
Update to the latest beta app fixed the issue for me, thank you!!
Latest beta version available to me is 3.5.5.669 … Maybe it’s still rolling out.
Is direct unlock fixed? In the latest beta I have it’s still very much broken but the lock does now show in accessories.
It’s not just the beta app that is required.
After getting the beta app, an update will be available for the doorbell. Both the beta app and beta firmware for the doorbell seems to have fixed it for me.
I know this has been an issue for you for quite some time (since you began this topic), so thank you for sharing this update!
Beta app and firmware did not work for me. Bump.
Some good news. They have half of the process working. With the update to 3.6.6 (683) on Android and doorbell to firmware 1.0.73 (plugin version 3.6.04) the doorbell can unlock the lock bolt. It does not seem to be able to lock it though. Keep hoping.
Wyze, rather than fixing the problem with the video doorbell pro and the lock bolt, they fixed the advertising. What really seems silly is the action to ½ way fix it with allowing the doorbell to unlock the bolt rather than lock it. Also, they did not fix the icon on the doorbell screen to show the status of the lock bolt either; it just always shows locked.
Anyway, which would I pick to have working, the doorbell to lock or unlock the bolt? Let’s see. My friends are at my door to pick something up but I am away. How are they to get in? Oh, I can unlock the door remotely with the doorbell.
Oh, but they leave and forget to lock the bolt. I am out of luck because I cannot see the bolt status nor remotely lock it. Then again, my friends could have just called me (remember I had to get a call anyway to know when to remotely unlock it) and I could tell them the temporary code to unlock the bolt. Afterwards I can check the status and lock the bolt remotely if they forgot. Oh wait, that is not the function Wyze picked to fix.
Broken record here but my STRONG advice is ditch everything Wyze and move to Tapo. Competitive price wise and functionality/features leave Wyze in the dust.
