Well, that’s good information to know. I guess I’ll have to stick with Ring, which is a bummer. I love my house chime’s sound.

if i was designing it i would have had the lens and button be able to detach so it could go outside, and it would come with a threaded tube to go through the existing peephole hole (lol) and connect with the main part of the unit with most of the guts being on the inside…and there would be an option…

That is interesting, haven’t seen that before. If you’re still interested in a video doorbell you can pick up a transformer for pretty cheap and run power to it. I am going to use one of the plug in models @Ken.S mentioned above.
