Hello, I have quite a few v3s and love them. I’d like to rig a v3 at the end of my driveway, however there is no way to realistically get power here. (Not interested in the the wyze wireless one). I’m thinking of a setup of solar panel + battery + v3. The v3 pulls 4 watts I believe. so that’s 4*24 = 96 wH/day. The minimum sunshine on a day should be 8 hours, but obviously you have snow, rain, clouds, etc. so, from 8 hours of sun (or less if possible) we need at least 100 wH/day. just to kee…

Standalone Solar Powered Mailbox

So, I finally did it. I completed my Solar Powered Wyzecam Mailbox! It is standalone and “watches” everything passing by on my street. It is powered by a 30 Watt panel, 65AH AGM battery, stepdown transformer 12-5v, has 1/2 watt LED lights, etc. Power generation is located inside out of site and is easily accessible via a “door” on the back. I found this easy to make solution works great, and has been reliable 7x24 for a few weeks now. Even during winter, low light cloudy weather. I want to set up a system for my RV. I want 4 cameras with spotlights. Do I need a hub? I don’t want paid monitoring. I have a IPhone which I assume I can get notifications and view videos?
