So I have (had) two Wyze thermostats. They were purchased at separate places, in separate states, and are installed in separate houses in those separate states. They have been both up and running well for more than two years. They are both on forced air furnaces. Both of these forced air furnaces are relatively new and are in good condition. Within the period of a week. Both systems started malfunctioning in the same exact way. The temperature from the thermostat set point would be calling for heat, they would show that they were heating (orange background) and that the fan was running (it was) but there was no warm air coming out. The room temperature was going down with the cold winter we are having. I would turn the system to “off”, count to 30 seconds, turn the system back on to “heat” and voila, it would begin working and come up to set point. I would get the thermostat message saying “1 min safety delay” sometimes if I did not wait long enough before restarting the thermostat. This gradually got worse and worse with one of the houses and I ended up installing an Ecobee Enhanced thermostat because the Wyze thermostat is obviously discontinued now. The system with the Ecobee has worked perfectly since the replacement. Wyze thermostat firmware version 1.2.8. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Sounds like a possible failing relay inside the thermostat.
