Wyze Robot Vacuum: The Most Expensive Mistake I’ve Ever Made

I never thought I’d be here writing this, but after months of frustrating back-and-forth with wyze customer support, I feel like other customers deserve to hear the truth about the wyze Robot Vacuum before making the same mistake I did.

Let me start by saying—I was a loyal wyze customer for years. I’ve purchased their cameras, doorbells, lights, and more. I even recommended wyze to family and friends. But after my $242.53 wyze Robot Vacuum failed due to a clear defect that they admitted to, wyze refused to take responsibility and has completely lost my trust.

What Happened?

I purchased the Wyze Robot Vacuum in early 2021, expecting it to last more than a year. It worked decently for a while, but after some time, it started **randomly shutting off mid-cleaning, not logging clean cycles, and over time became completely useless.

I reached out to support, jumped through every troubleshooting hoop they threw at me, submitted logs, photos, proof of purchase—everything they asked. And after all that? They admitted the vacuum was defective but refused to replace it because it was outside their one-year warranty.

The Problem with Wyze’s Policy

A one-year warranty is fine for normal wear and tear—but when a product is DEFECTIVE FROM THE START, shouldn’t a company stand behind it?

Wyze claims to “value its customers” but instead of doing the right thing, they offered me a laughable $15 gift card and then up to a $50 Wyze gift card—I’ve turned down their gift card options as it forces me to buy from them again when I’ve just been burned. Trust me…I won’t buy from wyze again.

I know I’m not the only one dealing with a defective Wyze Robot Vacuum. Just a quick search shows dozens of other customers reporting similar failures. If you’ve experienced random shutdowns, unresponsive behavior, charging issues, or mapping failures, this isn’t a fluke—it’s a bad product.

Wyze Needs to Do Better

  • Stand behind your most expensive product!
  • Fix known defects—a product should last longer than a year.
  • Stop offering pointless gift cards instead of real solutions.
  • Listen to your customers. We’re not asking for anything unreasonable—just a working product.

If you’ve had similar issues with your Wyze Robot Vacuum, comment below! Let’s make sure wyze sees this and understands that we won’t just go away quietly.

Welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear of the issue with your vacuum. This won’t help much, but there are many many people here who have robot vacuums and have few if any issues with them. Myself, I was an early adopter. ‘Sharon’ has been performing well for years.

That being said, if you would like to sell your robot vacuum, pm me.

The randomly shutting off sounds like the static issue I had at the start. Our humidity is on the low side around here. An anti-static electronics cleaner more than solved the issue for me.

Not logging cleaning cycles was happening for a while, but it eventually resolved itself on its own.
