Does anyone know if the Wyze Power Bank has been discontinued? It’s been “Out of Stock” for a few months (like several other Wyze products). I’ve signed up for notifications and have checked back on Wyze frequently but nothing has changed. It would be nice to know if it’s a long-term production/supply issue to be re-stocked eventually or if it will no longer be offered so I can look for another one elsewhere.
Also it’s difficult to select a required “tag” for this post when none is offered relating to the Power Bank. If I’m in the wrong area, I apologize. I should add the Power Bank isn’t even categorized on the website. One has to do a site search to find it.
Are you looking for this to use with Wyze Car? If so, then I’d consider moving your topic to the Cameras category with car and cam-v1-v2 as tags. Feel free to let me know if you need help with that or want that done.
As far as other tags go, I agree that there should be a #power-bank tag for the Power Bank product, and I’ll see if the Admins want to add that. Thank you for bringing that to our attention!
I don’t have an answer on the availability question, unfortunately.
No, I don’t have a Wyze Car. My husband and I use the Power Banks to charge our phones and the Wyze Ear Buds and Buds Pro. Should I still move this message to another topic, like Lifestyle? If so, I’m not sure what required tag I would use as no tags in that Category applied to the Power Bank.
Thanks for the additional information about your use. I’ve added that to my note to the Admins. I don’t know when they might respond.
If you want to move your topic to the Lifestyle category or if you want me to move it, then I think that’s fine (just let me know if you’d like for me to move it; I’d also add buds and buds-pro tags since you mentioned those). If you want to leave it here for now, then I think that’s okay, too. I’m not sure what might get the best visibility from the community, and really only someone from Wyze would be able to provide a definitive answer to your availability question.
Is this question about what you should do with your post or about a recommendation for a Wyze Power Bank substitute? If the former, then hopefully I’ve answered that (let me know if I haven’t). If the latter, then I’d have to do my own searches online for recommendations. I’ve been considering picking up a weather radio (something with solar and hand-crank charging options) that can also be used to charge mobile devices just because I’d like to have an extra alert device and appreciate the additional features, but that’s probably overkill if you’re just seeking something slim to pack for recharging your audio products.
I can go ahead and move it to Lifestyle with the tags you recommended. My request for recommendations was just about the post, not about other power banks. I’ve already got another one in mind but I’ll hold out hope for a while longer that Wyze will come through.
You’re welcome, and if I see a message from the Admins that a #power-bank tag has been added to the Forum, then I’ll go ahead and add this to your topic.
Interestingly, If you want to get technical, Wyze does sort of sell a battery pack under the Brand name “Yoozer”… There used to be a lot of advertisements about it saying something like “Yoozer by Wyze” but I’m not totally sure of the exact relationship (ie: subsidiary, sub-bramd, hybrid brand, sister companies of the same parent company, etc).
That battery pack was really popular on tiktok for a while.
That’s the word I’m getting for now, and because of that the Admins aren’t going to add a Forum tag for it; however, if that product becomes available again then they’ll add the tag.[1]
I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, but I appreciate that you had the thoughtfulness to ask about tagging, because that helps with Forum organization and also improves the visibility of issues that are important to users. Thank you for asking about that.
If you’ll forgive my off-topic comment, I’ve seen you mention that company before, and it makes me think of “Foozer”, which I think was kind of the unofficial title of the tour where Foo Fighters and Weezer performed on the same ticket. I got to see one of those shows, and it was awesome.
A Forum search of Wyze Power Bank returns only five results for me currently, so even if the tag was added now it would be applied to only a handful of topics. Searching power bank returns a lot more results, but most of those are for references to third-party products where the Forum tag wouldn’t apply. ↩︎
If I may offer another suggestion: Have a section on the website that lists products currently Out of Stock so consumers can see this information at a glance. Also, have a section listing products that have officially been Discontinued. At the same time, remove any reference to Discontinued products that are on separate pages that say, “This product is no longer available and won’t be coming back.” This would currently include the Buds, Buds Pro, the Gaming Headset, and the Robot Vacuum. The main Health & Lifestyle page doesn’t show the Discontinued products but at the bottom of the page, it shows reference to the Buds that links to the page that says it’s no longer available. All of this can get confusing and frustrating.
Perhaps this should go on the Wishlist topic or some other topic but I thought I’d mention it here first.
Thank you again for listening.
I think I see what you mean about the Health & Lifestyle page. Near the bottom they’ve pulled rating and review quotes and links to products that I believe haven’t been available for a while and I imagine won’t return (e.g., Watch 47c). That seems like an oversight and an area where the Web shop team could be making better choices. I understand your point about how this could be confusing and frustrating to existing and potential customers.
I don’t know how much traction your suggestion would get in the Wishlist category if you decided to post there, but I’ll ping the community manager for awareness, and maybe Wyze’s Web team will do something with it.
