Bringing this up again, as the previous post closed. Hoping to provide insight for others, so you don’t end up in this spot.
There seems to be a common occurrence of the Wyze smart plugs failing rather soon after the warranty period. Could this short lifespan be a reflection of the quality of the device? Check other social media posts… It’s a problem that Wyze doesn’t want to acknowledge. Their solution is to offer a gift card that partially replaces the device. In the end, you still have to pay. I guess that’s a good tactic for them.
I’m not sure which “previous post” you mean. It’s possible to link to that topic from this one if you want to provide some more context. Despite that, I’ll say that my first Wyze products were the original Plugs, which I’ve been using since 2019. They’re integrated into Google Home and continue to serve me well. I use smart Wi-Fi plugs from other brands, as well, and just haven’t had any Wyze Plugs completely quit on me.
Same here. Been running all versions of Wyze plugs since 2019 and all are still doing well. I have 2 groups of plugs spread over 2 locations. One group has plugs from 2023-2024. And this group has 18 older plugs from 2019-2022. It’s nice to be able to control them from anywhere in the world:
