My Wyze Cam v2 connects fine and works properly in both the app and my.wyze.
My Wyze Cam v1 sort of works, but is uselessly broke, It sends notifications to my phone and streams live footage to my.wyze website. It was working fine a couple of months ago (I don’t have it turned on usually). Now my Wyze Cam v1 will not connect via the app home screen or when I click directly into the Cam reporting “connection failed” -67 or -3005.
I’ve tried power cycling and downgrading the firmware (demo_4.10.8.746.bin) then renaming the firmware to demo.bin and following the flashing procedure. The app reports the camera is Version 4.10.8.746 meaning it actually flashed from the SD card version. I then managed and updated the firmware to the latest version from the app itself and that worked, It power cycled and updated the firmware twice and reported by the app as version 4.10.93006 .
I can see it has an IP from my router and is chatting over the network and has connections to external IPs.
From the app, if I click restart camera, then it restarts. But the video still shows connection failure when “connecting to the camera by secure channel” and returns either 3005 or 67 connectivity errors.
I’ve also cleared the cache and storage in Android and re-installed the app.
Just to reiterate, the camera is connected and I can see the video on my.wyze in a browser. So it’s definitely connected, The app can update its firmware and can restart it, so its even connected to the app.
The front led just keeps blinking even though I’ve tried to add device and reconnect several times (It’s a specific 2.4 GHZ channel), even though it has connectivity says set-up complete and is on the same wifi as my phone app and the other working Cam v2.
They’ve been updating the app with increased security and also releasing updated firmware for various cameras to match, I wonder if the Panv1 simply isn’t supported by the newer authentication. If you go back to a previous version of the app (can get them from apkmirror.com) does it work then?
What app version are you using on the device that it is not working on? Some newer firmware versions have historically only worked with newer app versions or vice versa.
If you have the newest firmware version and the newest app version and it is still not loading on the newest app version, even though it is running on the webview, then I would potentially recommend trying the following:
Expand this for instructions to clear Cache/Memory-Leak Variables:
CLEAR THE APP CACHE:
At a minimum, in the app go to the Account Tab
➜ Select App Settings
➜ Go down to where it says Cache File Size
➜ select Clear on the right side.
If using Android, Go back to your phone’s home screen and Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (or wherever you tap to initially open the app)
➜ Select App info in the pop-up menu.
➜ Select Storage and Cache
➜ Tap Clear cache (and consider tapping on Clear storage too) on the Storage screen.
➜ Just to be thorough, tap Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm).
Restart your phone.
Restart your router (and modem)
Restart the Wyze device (unplug the power cord and plug it back in)
Now try it again with everything pulling fresh and no potential memory leaks, etc.
Also, make sure you aren’t using a long 3rd-party USB cord or adapter as those are known to cause intermittent issues due to weak power received during times when the camera needs to draw more power.
