Wyze pan 3 camera’s up down movement are working , but side to side panning is frozen
Try moving it gently by hand. If it seems to move freely, the motor may be dead or gears stripped. It should have some resistance as you move it if the gears are good. If it moves manually, for the heck of it test it with a different power supply (any USB one rated 2A or higher) and cable just to make sure it isn’t a power issue.
If it seems to be seized, you can try working it back and forth and see if you get get it unstuck.
Thank you for your answer, I tried it move gently by hand , seems it worked correctly and it has resistance and I think gears are not stripped.
After some time it started to work, but currently it stops ((. Really I can’t imagine what can be happened.
Did you try a different USB power supply (one with at least 2000mA/2A output)?
If not that, then it sounds like one of the motors has started to die. If you’re within 1 year they’ll send a warranty replacement.
Not yet but I’ll try and about the result I’ll put here , thank you very much!!
So in user guide they tell as that it’s a water resistant and for outside usage.
But in real from attached pic you can see how it works in outside.
My Cam v3 pan finally stopped working and I’m very disappointed and upset.
Was it right side up or upside down? I’ve got two, one of which gets direct exposure to heavy rains, it is still going fine after ~2 years.
I haven’t pulled it apart so no idea how it looks inside though.
Yeah I’ve found that when mounted upside down you need something over it to protect the base or water will get in.
Because it’s located underneath rusty pipes. If relocated elsewhere, only clean rain water gets in. ![]()
in real it’s protruding slightly from the rusty pipes ))
yea, but from where you found this kind of info, they don’t mention about in in user’s manual ((
I found out by learning the hard way ![]()
From what I can see water infiltration points when upside down are:
Where the power cord “L” goes into the camera, it can actually get between the flat USB cable and the “L” shaped boot.
The rotating circular base.
While strategically placed silicone grease (dielectric) could help, I have a feeling the rotating base would move it out of the way after a while, so the covers that are sold on amazon (or a homemade one) seem to be the best bet when mounted like that.
