Wyze Lock Notifications "The door swung open"

By chance is anyone else experiencing these repetitive notifications today? My door is closed and locked, I keep disabling the notification to try and make it stop, but it keeps pushing on through.

Welcome back to the forum @biboswel.

I have the Wyze Lock as well and have not experienced this issue. This situation sounds peculiar for sure.

Have you tried recalibrating the lock by chance?

This is happening to me today. every 5 minutes I get a notification of “door swung open”. However, I have it set for NO notifications, and I even toggled the “door open” notification on and then back off again.

The app is up to date.

The lock says it’s in the “locked” position. I have two cameras, one pointed at the inside and one at the outside of the front door. Both views show the door as closed and locked, not swung open.

I can unlock and lock the doors from the app and even see on my camera view that the door lock is turning, unlocking and relocking.

I’m not home to calibrate it because I’m at work, which is the whole point of having these cameras when I’m not at home.

Wyze, is there a way to fix this without constantly recalibrating when I do get home? Will it drain the lock battery so that the door can’t be opened when my kids get home from school?

That would ultimately depend on what’s causing the notifications. It could just be an app issue where its stuck repeating it. The app is what shows the notifications.

However, its originating from the lock then it all depends on what’s going on there. If its very light or extremely heavy in usage would determine how the battery lasts. Its probably unknown to anyone if the lock ran at 100% usage, how long it would last.

It could also be originating from Wyze servers and the lock has nothing to do with it.

If the lock is connected to a Wyze hub then the hub be could potentially be the problem.

But, this is the problem with smart locks. They ultimately can’t be problem free 100% of the time and if you’re concerned about no problems then you can’t use a smart lock. All smart locks even have the potential to show locked when actually didn’t lock. You have to physically test a lock to truly know if its locked or not - its the only way.

Ok thanks. When I got home last night I had to turn off bluetooth and back on again, close down the app and restart, and then was able to recalibrate it. The battery is at 36%, but I don’t know what it was at before. It has stopped the “door swung open” notifications since recalibrating. Before I got home, the kids said the normal beeping that occurs when “door is open” was not beeping during the 5 minute intervals of “door swung open” notifications. We were obviously able to still get inside while this was occuring. The door was definitely closed and locked though. The “door open” and need to recalibrate does happen randomly, every two weeks or so. But never have I had this 5-minute recurring “door swung open” notification issue before.
