I don’t have any experience with the previous version of the Lock Bolt (v1), though I can see why that might have more appeal for some because of the design and different finishes. Another recent topic also mentioned its Bluetooth-only connection as a shortcoming, and I can see how that can be a detriment. I do like the Wi-Fi capability with this one, and fingerprint reading has been reliable for me so far.
That’s weird about the latch bolt partially deploying when you didn’t want it to. Given that and the “play” that you described before, I wonder if something is hinky with the installation or the lock itself. I agree about keeping an eye on that, and if it happens again I’d consider submitting a log through the app and then following that up with a Support ticket that includes the Log ID (submitting a log does not automatically generate a ticket).
