Just installed lock. Adding fingerprint to lock. While the lock acknowledges the finger print and will add it the App fails to show all the fingerprints just fingerprint1. Also the app times out saying it no prints were detected try again. Pulled the batteries waited a bit put them back in. Did the process over again. Same result. Removed lock to check connection was good. Unplugged and replugged it in. Same problem. Tried using another persons prints.. same issue.
Called Support and after troubleshooting they are sending me a new lock
I am having the same issue with my lock that I just installed. Did your replacement lock solve the issue?
Just installed the replacement and the issue persists. The lock senses the touch and remembers it. The app never sees the touch although after a bit it will show that a fingerprint has been saved. Really weird. Driving me nuts Strange that both new locks are having this problem. leads me to believe that it is not the lock. Deleted the app and reinstalled. Tried using my wife’s iPhone to see if it was My iPhone and the issue continues…
Thanks for the update! My lock goes through the fingerprint registration process, but it’s not reflected in the app. Eventually I get the timed our error message and it shows up as fingerprint1. if I try to add another fingerprint, it will register and work for a moment, but then I get an error message telling me to delete all access methods and start again.
For now, I’ve settled with creating one fingerprint for myself as admin user and another as a shared user for my wife. The fingerprint created for shared user also had the same issue as above but saved as fingerprint1 under that user.
Sure seems like it’s more of a software bug versus a hardware fault. Besides this glitch, everything else seems to be working as advertised / expected. Hopefully a firmware / app update can sort this all out.
That’s how I feel too. I just wanted to eliminate the hardware from the equation. Hopefully we will get Wyze to chime in here. ![]()
My one thought after reading this is that it may be an iOS/iPadOS-specific issue, but that’s just speculation on my part. I have not experienced this issue with Android, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried to scan any new fingerprints for Lock Bolt v2. That’s something I could potentially try within the next day or two.
Have either of you attempted to add fingerprints using an Android device? I don’t use iOS at all, so I don’t have an iPhone or iPad to try in order to see if there’s any difference, though it’s possible that one or more of the other @Mavens might. If so, then maybe one of those volunteers can test and chime in.
At this point, I’d suggest these sorts of things:
- Attempt adding fingerprints with the Android app, if possible, and report if the experience differs from what you’re seeing on iOS/iPadOS.
- Reproduce the issue, submit a log from the app, and then follow that up by opening a ticket with Wyze Support, noting the Log ID in the ticket. Hopefully that will get this issue some visibility from the developers. Note that logs and tickets are not the same thing.
- Share here the Wyze app and Lock Bolt v2 firmware versions that you’re using. That can help the community to understand if a particular app or firmware version seems to be involved with this apparent issue, and more detail like that can be useful.
Just purchased this and have it installed lock on my front door. Also having the same issues with app not recognizing the fingerprint when tapping the fingerprint reader.
On firmware 1.0.8
Same issue App does not recognize the 0/8 scans as I’m registering fingerprints and doesn’t always show how many fingerprints I have. Def an app issue.
Tried using an iPhone to set up the fingerprint app, but it didn’t register the scans. I switched to an Android phone, and it successfully registered all 8 scans. I was able to add fingerprints for 4 users
Thank you for testing this with the Android app, confirming what I see (I don’t use iOS), and reporting your results here. I’ll ping someone at Wyze to see if we can get some more information about this.
Also, welcome to the Forum, @jayvee, @JSwizzle, and @dunhill421! ![]()
I am having the same exact issue. Just purchased and installed. When trying to register my fingerprint, I get to the screen to add the fingerprint and none of my finger touches register as any of the 8 scans. I tried unplugging and plugging back in. Removing batteries. Uninstalling and re-installing the app. Still the same issue. I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 26.5. They really need to fix this glitch. I’m sure this is a software glitch.
Thank you all for the info. Could you please submit a device log for me so we could investigate? Thanks!
I returned the lock and kept the Wyze palm lock
I am also experiecing the same exact issue. What is odd is even though it says 0/8 scans completed, the lock itself seems to store the fingerprints and it works. At first, in the app, it says to delete all access methods when goto Access and Sharing (next to your userid), but then after a while it seems to work and the error goes away. I was also able to add fingerprint 2 & 3, getting the same scanning error, but it does store it.
Same issue here. Contacted WYZE and did the troubleshooting. They suggested replacement. Received replacement. Same issue. WYZE really needs to test before they release. I have stayed with WYZE through all their issues but at this point it’s getting ridiculous. I’ve had issues they can’t resolve and upgraded equipment constantly but at this point I’m sick of spending money on hardware and subscriptions to only have WYZE have no clue how to resolve so many issues not to mention their lack of security and privacy controls. I kept saying to myself to move on to another platform but now it’s time. So if anyone wants to buy tons of WYZE products for pennies let me know. BTW don’t waste your time calling support because once AGAIN WYZE has no clue how to fix this issue and even support at this point will tell you it’s been escalated to the same people who couldn’t make sure it worked in the first place. I used to tell people to buy WYZE but now I will tell them bye WYZE. You’ve lost a customer for life.
